This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was experiencing an issue where the translation editor was only displaying the headline of a page, and other textboxes were not visible when using BeTheme/BeBuilder with WPML.
Solution:
We identified that this issue is a known problem with BeTheme and BeBuilder, as detailed in our errata page (https://wpml.org/errata/betheme-bebuilder-content-not-available-in-translation-editor/). We recommended the client to try the workaround suggested on that page. Additionally, for fields appearing in the translation editor that should not be translated, such as shortcodes or CSS, we provided three options:
1. Contact BeBuilder to modify the code to prevent these elements from registering in the Translation Editor.
2. Follow the guide to register the element for translation correctly (https://wpml.org/documentation/support/language-configuration-files/register-page-builder-content-for-translation/).
3. Use the Automatic Translation's Glossary feature to prevent certain terms from being translated (https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/how-to-create-and-manage-glossary-entries/).

If this solution does not resolve your issue, or if it seems outdated or irrelevant to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues (https://wpml.org/known-issues/), verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket in our forum (https://wpml.org/forums/forum/english-support/).

Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate my pages on my WordPress site using WPML. I am using BeTheme/BeBuilder on this page.

Symptoms:
The translation editor is only showing the headline of the page, and all other textboxes that should follow at the bottom do not appear.

Questions:
Could you please check what the issue is with the textboxes not appearing in the translation editor?

Thank you for reaching out to WPML support. While one of my colleagues reviews your ticket, I’d like to offer some initial troubleshooting steps and see if I can assist you right away.

BeTheme is fully compatible with WPML, as noted here: https://wpml.org/theme/betheme-2/. However, there is a known issue described here: https://wpml.org/errata/betheme-bebuilder-content-not-available-in-translation-editor/, which seems similar to the one you're experiencing.

Could you please try the suggested workaround outlined in the errata and let us know if it resolves the issue?

Hello,

thanks for getting back. I already tried this workaround a few times but the problem still exists. Also changed from advanced editor to the classic editor but same problem here as well.

Kind regards

Hello,
My name is Carlos, and I will continue working on this ticket

1.- Please describe step-by-step how to reproduce the issue on a post/page that we can use as a reference

2.- Share the access credentials to your site in your next message, which I have set private.

Confirm you have created a full site backup that you can restore if necessary.

Note: As an alternative, you can create a staging site using the WP Staging plugin for free and share the credentials.

Looking forward to your message.

Hey thanks for the support,

it worked but I am confused why some fields are also in the translation editor:

First example: "Kontaktformular 1" should be the shortcode of the CF7 form on the /kontakt page

Second example: CSS is also displayed in the editor on /familie page

These are some lines which shouldn't be translated otherwise it could break the site. Is there a way to remove or hide these fields? Because there will be also other editors working on that site and I don't want to keep these fields because of higher chances to break the site.

Could you please take a look again?

Thank you very much.

Kind regards

Good morning!

These fields are appearing in the Translation Editor because that is the way they are registered by BeBuilder. If you want these elements not to appear in the Translation Editor, then you have three options:
- Contact BeBuilder and ask them to modify the code to register these elements
- Register the element by following the steps described in this guide: https://wpml.org/documentation/support/language-configuration-files/register-page-builder-content-for-translation/
- In case you are using Automatic Translation, you can add these terms to the Glossary: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/how-to-create-and-manage-glossary-entries/ which then will be applied to translation.

Kind regards!

Hey,

thank you very much for the informations.

I just translated the page "Für Familien" to English. I did your workaround with changing the site a little bit and save it. The fields did appear, but after I translated the texts and try to review the changes all fields which were visible before disappeared again.

Thank you! Worked now, had to update the page a few times, then it seems to work. Sometimes I have the issue but it disappears after a 2nd or 3rd try.

One more question.. I have this booking snippet here: hidden link and also on other pages. How can I enable WPML to translate the strings there?

Thanks so much for your support!

Kind regards

1.- I'm happy to hear that the original issue has been resolved 🙂

2.- The strings in the booking widget are coming from another site, so they are not stored in your WordPress installation; therefore, WPML can't access them and translate them. I recommend contacting the authors of this widget and asking them how to show the booking widget in the corresponding language.

Hey,

one more question. I tried to add the english snippet in the translator. I guess the snippet is behind "heading + desc" when I try to add the snippet I get the following errormessage in the 2nd screenshot. What I am doing wrong here?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards

Hi,

I can't say for sure, I can't read German. Also, this is a different issue than the original one, so I kindly ask you to open a new ticket -I recommend using the German forum- to solve this issue independently. This way, we will be following our support policy of solving one issue per ticket.

Thank you very much for your understanding!
