Background of the issue:
I am experiencing an internal error 500 message on my site hidden link. When I check the PHP error log, I see errors indicating 'AH00124: Request exceeded the limit of 10 internal redirects due to probable configuration error.' The only way to solve this is by updating the permalinks. I compared the .htaccess file before and after the update. Dutch is the main language, and German is one of the optional languages.

Symptoms:
Internal error 500 message with 'AH00124: Request exceeded the limit of 10 internal redirects due to probable configuration error.'

Questions:
Why does this happen?
