This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues with translations from LILT not automatically synchronizing into WordPress through WPML. Instead, translations appear as 'Translation ready to download' in the WPML → Translation Jobs list, and the client has to manually click 'Download' to import them. They have set the 'Translation pickup mode' to 'The site will fetch translations manually' due to server stability issues when multiple translations were processed simultaneously.
Solution:
This setting requires manual intervention to download translations. Currently, WPML does not support automatic fetching via API or cron jobs for LILT translations, and there are no alternative methods provided within WPML for automatic synchronization in this scenario. To manage translations, you should use the 'Check status and get translations' button in the Translation Dashboard.

If this solution does not apply to your situation, or if it seems outdated, we recommend opening a new support ticket. We also advise checking the related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am trying to have translations from Lilt automatically synchronized into WordPress through WPML once they are completed, without needing to manually download them from the Translation Jobs screen. You can see the issue at this link: hidden link.

Symptoms:
Translations completed in Lilt appear as 'Translation ready to download' in the WPML → Translation Jobs list, but they are not imported automatically. I have to manually click Download in the Translation Jobs screen to import the translations into WordPress.

Questions:
Why are translations not automatically synchronizing from Lilt to WordPress through WPML?
How can I enable automatic synchronization of completed translations from Lilt into WordPress?

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us.

Can you please provide your site's credentials so I can pass the issue to the Proxy team?

Hi Laura,

Sorry, I cannot share the credentials for the live site. However, if you'd like, we can create a duplicate (clone) of the live site and share the login details for that cloned site with you. Please let us know if that would work for you.

Also, while creating the support ticket, I shared the site's debug information. Can't that help you understand our current settings?

Debug information contains your WPML settings, nothing about how Translation Service work.

I don't know if a clone would work the same. I'm escalating the issue to the Proxy team and let's see if they can work with the info we have so far.

Hi,

to enable automatic delivery, your site needs to enable XML-RPC and it seems you don't have it. Could you please check, enable and see if the issue is solved?

Hi Laura,

Sorry, but we intentionally changed the "Translation pickup mode" setting to "The site will fetch translations manually", because when many articles were being translated at the same time from LILT, it was causing our server to crash.
We just want to know:
- Is this the reason why we now have to manually download translations?
- With the setting "The site will fetch translations manually", is there any other way in the back-end to get the translations?
- is there any other option or method to fetch the completed translations (e.g., via cron or API) without having to click download one by one?
- Could you please share any documentation or video that explains the correct workflow for completing translations when using this manual fetch mode?

Thanks again for your guidance.

Yes, "The site will fetch translations manually" means you have to download translation manually so it's expected they're not fetched manually.

WPML only offers those 2 methods. As for API or cron, it also depends on the Translation Service, if they don't have a public API WPML can't connect to anything. But notice that even if it was possible, you'd have the same issue you had with "Translation pickup mode".

Hi Laura,

As far as I know, the LILT translation service provides a public API (REST API v3). Could you help me with anything related to that?

Also, in my previous reply, I had requested if you could share any document or video that explains the correct workflow for completing translations when using the manual fetch mode.

I’ll be waiting for your response on both matters.

Thank you!

Sorry, but this would be considered custom coding, and we can't support that.

Moreover, the API would probably behave like WPML automatic retrieval does, so I can't see benefits in doing this.

We don't have any specific document or video for retrieving downloads manually, you just need to click on the button "Check status and get translations" in Translation Dashboard.
