This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client wanted to deactivate translations temporarily to import properties in English without incurring additional translation costs. They were unsure if they should deactivate the WPML plugin or if there was another method.
Solution:
We advised the client against deactivating the WPML plugin as it could lead to confusion with unfiltered translations appearing on the site. Instead, we recommended changing the translation settings in WPML to 'Translate what you choose' from 'Translate everything automatically'. This adjustment can be made in WPML > Settings. This way, the client can control what gets translated and avoid unnecessary costs. Additionally, we provided a link to hide languages from the front end if needed: https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/language-setup/hiding-languages-on-the-front-end/

If this solution does not apply to your situation, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Should you need further assistance, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I would like to deactivate translation because I will import some properties that are already in English. Should I just deactivate the WPML plugin and when I need the translation activate it again?

Hi there.

You can hide languages from the front end:

Thank you for your answer but i don't want to hide languages i would like to deactivate translation and insert some properties so that it will not translate the properties and not cost me additional money.
How can i do it? Best, regards, Olga

Hi Olga.

I am not sure what you mean by getting charged.

You can always disable automatic translation (in WPML > Settings > close to the top area - you can switch to "Translate what you choose" in case you have "Translate everything automatically" at the moment) if that is what you are referring to.

You can also disable WPML but that might confuse you because the translations won't be filtered and properly assigned anymore and, for example, you will see multiple versions for the same page and you won't know why there are multiple versions of that page/post/product/record.

I hope that you will find this information helpful.

Please let me know if something is still not clear or if you are still having questions about this.
