Background of the issue:
I started working on my website hidden link on a staging link. After moving it to production, I unknowingly didn't follow the right process and deleted the key from my account.

Symptoms:
The production site won't detect the new key, and when I use the old key, it is recognized as a development key. I cannot translate my website as it will not register a new key.

Questions:
Assist in registering a new production key on my website?

Hey there,

In this case, it's best to re-register the website. Please follow these steps:

1. Go to wpml.org/account/sites and remove the website from the list. Preferably staging and other versions of the website as well;
2. Add it again and copy the newly generated key;
4. Register the website again, with the key you copied in step #2;

This has no impact on your previously created translations. That should do the trick. Let me know how it goes.

Lucas,

Thanks for these steps, I have done that adnd still I get the error I shared above. Note, that the staging and other versions of the website are no longer there but the staging key is only that accepts to progress. I did as you explained removed all versions and re-registered afresh and it won't work. I will share with you my backend login details for you to access and see;

Hey there,

I removed the credentials you shared as this is a public forum. I strongly recommend that you remove this user or, at least, change its password, as your information might've been compromised.

To share your credentials safely, I've activated a form.

The required fields can be found below the comments section. The information you enter is private, i.e. only you and I can see it and have access to it.

I may need to replicate your website locally. To do this, I need to temporarily install a plugin called "Duplicator" or "All in One WP Migration" on your website. This will allow me to create a copy of your website and content. Once the issue is resolved, I will delete the local website. Let me know if this works for you.

IMPORTANT

Please make a backup copy of the site files and database before giving us access.

- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields, this means your post and site login details are being made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details if you do not see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

Hey there,

I was able to proceed with the setup, but WPML is still nor working as intended. On WPML > Support, I see the error:

code: http_request_failed
message: cURL error 28: Connection timed out after 10001 milliseconds

Please check the image attached. This indicates some issue with your server, so please reach out to your hosting provider and let me know if they can fix it, or at least have some useful information for us. Share the error with them. Also share this page:
