This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is setting up WPML to translate their website into multiple languages and has encountered two issues: unexpected '/en' suffix in English URLs and an incorrect credit calculation for translations.
Solution:
For the issue with English URLs having an '/en' suffix, this is standard behavior when using the 'Different languages in directories' option in WPML. If you prefer not to have '/en' for English, consider using a different URL format option in WPML settings.
Regarding the translation credit calculation, the initial estimate includes not only the visible text but also hidden elements like custom fields and content from third-party plugins. To ensure you are only charged for the content you want translated, configure your translation preferences under WPML > Settings before starting the automatic translation. This includes setting non-essential content, such as blog posts, to 'not translatable' if you do not wish them to be included.

If this solution does not fully address your concerns or seems outdated, we recommend opening a new support ticket. Background of the issue:
I am trying to set up WPML on my website hidden link to translate content into 6 languages: French, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese (Brazil), and Arabic. I want to use the 'Different languages in directories' option and 'Translate Everything Automatically' with WPML handling the translations. I was assured that using the language name as a parameter would not affect my original English URLs.

Symptoms:
After installing WPML, all my English page URLs had '/en' added, which was not expected.

Your current setup will use approximately 1,415,799 credits

I do not understand as I only have 73 website pages and 15 post pages for a total of about 92,000 words (used another your competitor to calculate number of words in my website).

when I use your calculating your cost page, I get the following:
Simulate your translation price
Number of words to translate
92000

Number of languages to translate into
6

DeepL
1,104,000
credits
€393.20 EUR

I want to use the Pay-as-you-go Plan

Additionally, the credit calculation for translation seems incorrect, showing 1,415,799 credits needed, while I only have about 92,000 words on my website.

Questions:
How can we fix the issue with '/en' being added to my English URLs?
How can I ensure I am charged only for the actual content on my website and not for excess credits?
