Background of the issue:
I am trying to remove a superscript on a text and save the changes in the translation.

Symptoms:
The superscript markers remain in the 'markers in sentence' field, and the saved translation for that sentence will not save.

Questions:
Why are the superscript markers not being removed?
Why is the translation not saving after attempting to remove the superscript?

Hello,

Since this is a "translation" (Same structure but with different "values" i.e the content/text translation) then all the markers that exist in one segment need to exist in their translations. That's why you can't complete the job until you add the markers to the content. You can't leave them out in the translations.

May I know why you want to exclude them from the translation? we know there are languages like chinese where superscripts do not exist then (and we're working to find a suitable solution for those cases), but it doesn't seem to be the case here where you are using EN and ES where instead they are used.

Thank you for the clarification. To confirm: the superscript formatting does not exist on the English version of the text—only on the ® symbol. However, in the Spanish translation, superscript formatting is incorrectly appearing on adjacent text, and the WPML editor prevents us from removing it and saving the update.

Update: I realized that the editor is expecting a superscript on the symbol in the translation and there isn't one. Sorry for the confusion. That marker exists on the English. How can I apply this to the Spanish translation? Can this be done within the translation editor?

I have more information.

I'm attaching screenshots of the original page in English. The superscript seems to only apply to the registered trademark symbol. When I view the draft page in Spanish, the superscript is applying to the adjacent text for some reason.

When I open the translation editor, that paragraph of text is expecting a superscript but saying there isn't one on the trademark symbol despite it displaying as superscripted when previewing the Spanish version of the page. Can you explain what is happening here and how to remedy this?

Thanks

Would it be possible to have access to that page? I may need access to site later on so if you can give it to me great, but right now i need mainly the link where that superscript is added to see how its structure come to us and how we return it later from our end.

This is because I'm not sure how the superscript is supposed to work and what's expected when it's added to a special character symbol.

Also because I want to see how the marker is configured to the actual HTML and also in the translation editor.
