Tell us what you are trying to do? Translate text to French on buttons displayed on the home page of hidden link (the French content/domain for hidden link). See "SEE DETAILS", "VIEW MORE" and "Sign Up".

Is there any documentation that you are following? No.

Is there a similar example that we can see?

What is the link to your site? hidden link (French) hidden link (English)

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support, I will gladly help you.

Can you please try following the instructions from our documentation:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/finding-strings-that-dont-appear-on-the-string-translation-page/#scan-the-theme-or-plugin

Let me know if you have any questions or need further assistance.

Kind regards,
Marsel

Hi Marsel,
Thanks for that link. I did that scan and was able to find "SEE DETAILS" in the translation strings and added the French translation for that. But I am still seeing the English text on the buttons displayed on hidden link.

I was able to find find "VIEW MORE" in the translation strings and add the French text for that. I do see the translated text, but it looks like this somehow caused a number of display issues on the home page of hidden link. Are you able to determine what is causing that? If possible, can I revert what I just did?

The home page of hidden link has more information on it, but is displaying correctly. So you reference that for how the home page of hidden link should look.

Thanks,
Ryan

Hi,

Thank you for the update.
The process you followed doesn't affect the website's layout (it only translates the strings).

Can you please try clearing the website's cache (server-side included) and see if the issue with the layout persists?

---

To check the issue with the strings not being translated I would need temporary access to your site's WP-admin to investigate this issue and understand it better. Please create an administrator user using any email you prefer.

Please fully back up your site (files and database) and confirm it in your next reply.

Your next reply is set to private so you can provide the username and password details.

Thanks,
Marsel

Hi Marsel,
I hid the translated "VIEW MORE" button on the page and that seems to have addressed most of the layout issues. Or at least enough for the page to display without being completely broken.

The area where the button is displayed is part of information loaded through a short code via and API. So I am going to ask one of our developers to look into the issue that occurred.

Can you confirm how I can revert what I did with that string translation and change the button back to just the English?

Thanks,
Ryan

Hi Ryan,

The only thing possible that might have affected your website's layout would be if the string of the button had any HTML tags that weren't copied on the translation side.

Other than that, nothing else could have affected the website's layout on the WPML side.
You can try deleting the button's string from WPML -> String translation, and it should show in the default language.

Kind regards,
Marsel

I was able to figure out a solution on my own. Thanks for the help Marsel.
