This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client is experiencing an issue where a section of their website is not displaying in English as expected, despite previously showing correctly. This problem is occurring on the page: https://www.rezisieriai.lt/en/about/. Additionally, there is a separate issue where a translated logo is not showing correctly on the same page. Solution: We have identified that the issue with the section not translating might be related to a bug in BeTheme, not WPML, as the problem persists even when WPML is disabled. We recommend checking with BeTheme support to resolve this issue in the default language first. If the problem continues to occur only in the translated version after fixing it with BeTheme, please contact us again. For the issue with the translated logo not displaying, please refer to the existing support ticket here: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/translated-logo-stopped-showing-in-1-page/
If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If issues persist, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Background of the issue:
I am trying to load the page in English. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link. I expected to see all sections in English as it was before. The section in the bottom section is also showing in another page and there it is in English.
Symptoms:
The section suddenly stopped showing in English and is displaying in the original Lithuanian language.
Questions:
How to make it show translated version again?
Since this ticket is a duplicate, it would be helpful for you to follow up on the initial ticket rather than opening new ones. This keeps everything organized, and your original ticket can remain a priority.
Can you also please mark this current ticket as resolved?
This one is a section in the bottom that stopped showing the translation and the one you have sent me the link is about logo not showing translation in one page. It happens to be that both issues happened on the same page, but they are different ones.
I will try to answer the question before assigning the ticket to one of my colleagues.
Would you please follow the steps below?
- Go to WordPress Dashboard > WPML > String Translation.
- Scroll down and check the "Look for strings while pages are rendered" checkbox.
- Reload the front end of the website and see if the string are now showing as translated.
- If so please do as follows:
- IMPORTANT STEP! Create a backup of your website. Or better approach will be to test this on a copy/staging version of the website to avoid any disruption of a live website.
- Go to "WordPress Dashboard > WPML > Support > Troubleshooting (link)".
- Click the "Show custom MO Files Pre-generation dialog box" button.
- After that, a pop up will show. Click the blue button and wait for the process to finish.
thank you for your reply and instructions. I did the first part and translation is not showing. So I guess I don't have to proceed with the second part?
How I/you can fix this? What else could/should be done?
Here's the URL (I have provided it when opening the ticket though...): hidden link
Scroll down as it is at the bottom.
On home page you can see the same section but the translation shows.
It was showing before in About page it just suddenly stopped and I have no idea why. As this section is part of 2 pages I suppose it is a global section? On other pages we don't have it though.
About creating the section:
The page as it is in original Lithuanian language was created before implementing WPLM. So after purchasing WPML everything was translated, including this section. And it was showing until it didn't.
- Please backup the site files and database before providing us access.
- If you have a staging site where the problem can be reproduced, it is better to share access to the staging site.
I don't know what worked, but it is showing in English now. However, it shows old version of translation which is different from the new one that is showing in Home page. How can that be?
seems like theme upadte helped. Can you let me know more info on my first question from last reply, about the template, so I can check if they are set correctly?
To edit the given page:
1. be signed into admin panel
2. open the given page in your browser
3. there is a black WP menu on top, choose <Edit with Be builder>
4. scroll down till you see the mention section - there you can edit it, delete it etc.
thanks, I checked, but not sure what is wrong, might be some else bug from previous versions.
I have duplicated this template to new draft, but then I see old in both languages, so something is wrong with this template. Can you please edit and try to adjust this new duplicated template so it looks correct, re-translate, then it to your page and re-translate the page?
The name of the new template is: Architect6 Global Section – About NEW
