This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was unable to fully translate a page using the WPML translation editor. Only parts of the page were loading, and even though the translation was marked as complete, switching the language showed that half of the page was not translated and was displayed in the default language.

Solution:
1. We removed the list block from the page and updated it.
2. We then updated the translation to check if all of the page's strings were visible.
3. We re-added the list block and checked the translation again.
4. We identified that the issue might be related to how a flag was being added to the page. We suggested using an icon instead and then checking if the string worked correctly.

Please note that this solution might be irrelevant if it's outdated or not applicable to your case. If you're still experiencing issues, we recommend opening a new support ticket. We also highly recommend checking related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Hello,

we're currently trying to translate a page. Somehow, the translation editor is not loading the whole page — only parts. The translation is marked as complete, but if we switch the language, half of the page is not translated and showing within the default language.

We've tried deleting the translated page to re-do the translation, but this was unsuccessful.

Regards

Hi Osama,

sure: hidden link

We've tried deleting the translated page and clear the WPML cache. After that, we tried to re-create the translation without any success. Nearly 70 % of the page is not translated.

Hi,

Thanks for the video. I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP)
Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.

Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.

❌ Please backup your database and website ❌

✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate the Plugins and the Theme and change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is critical.

✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.

Best regards,
Osama

Hi Osama,

it looks better now. I would like to translate it on the live page. How can I get the missing content there as well?

Johannes

Hi Johannes,

I deleted the list block from the page and updated it. After that, I tried to update the translation to check if I could see all of the page's strings.

The last step was to re-add the list block and check the translation.

Best regards,
Osama

Hi Osama,

thanks for clarification. Which list block do you mean? This documentation has several ones.

Hi Johannes,

The one that contains the language flags 100%. (Kindly check the attached screenshot)

Also, I deleted the </br> tag from the doc and replaced it with an empty line.

Best regards,
Osama

Hi Osama,

thanks for the hint. I've removed the list and added it again. I can now see the missing parts but not the list items for translation. When I remove the flags (which are nice to have) I'm able to translate the words. A bit lower I have a warning icon which somehow works. So maybe we do have a bug here?

Johannes

Hi,

I think the issue is caused by how this flag is being added (please check the attached screenshot).

I suggest using an icon instead and checking if the string works correctly.

Best regards,
Osama

Hi Osama,

I've decided to not use the flags. Thats a bid mad since I like using small graphical elements but the translation is more important to me.

Maybe you can let the dev team know that this is an issue.

Johannes
