Hi there,

We have some issues with exporting and importing files in 'Expert' mode. We would like to use this mode, as some fields have to be excluded from the export.

We exported all the files, and translated it. When trying to import, it all appears to be okay. The status is completed, but the whole English version of the page is empty. We want to check how it can be empty. If we can't figure it out, all the XLIFF files have to be translated again by an agency. That would take a lot of time.

As a test, we changed the ACF field group settings to 'Same languages across languages'. Here we had no issues in this way.

I can send you the websites and credentials if it works for you. Debug info is from the environment that doesn't import correct (environment #2).

When exporting the file in environment #1 and translating in an editor, everything is okay. Files are in export (import & export). When importing, no issues at all.

In expert mode (environment #2) there is an issue. When translating this page and importing it again, everything is blank. Could you check what this can be? I've added the test files. Only the files in the 'Expert' folder are important, as these are the ones that don't work.

Original ID's of files and translation jobs can be different.

If you can help this, this would be GREAT! Please let me know if you need some more information.

Cheers,
Finn

Hello Finn,

if the issue happens with Expert mode, it could be the settings for your custom fields are not correct.

1) Can you open your XLIFF files and see if any content appears there for translation?

2) Please check you have set the correct recommended translation settings for ACF custom fields:

3) Once you import XLIFF if you edit manually the 2nd language page, do you see translated content there in the backend?

Thanks,
Drazen
