I have 4 slightly different topics for you.

1. We would like to use the automatic translation button. Is there a possibility to block some pages that should not be translated? For example, policy pages for UK, USA, Canada etc should not be translated to any other language. They have to stay in English.
Also our bibliography pages, the research information is completely in English and should stay that way.

2. One of our pages used two embedded custom HTML codes, and they didn't appear in the side translator of WPML. How can we use a new code for the German translation?

-> 3. I think one of our team members destroyed the connection of the original English page with WPML now. He had the German page open and went directly on editing the German page, which we learned so far is a no-go. But it happened; what can we do now?

4. We translated the FAQ Page in WPML but on our page where FAQ is added in the end it is still in English. What went wrong or how to do better?

We experienced even more issues.

I will name the next points according to the page I am working on.
We work with WP staging so in the moment I can't demonstrate it on the live website.

5. Certificate page
The text in the WPML editor is not the same as what we are having on our page.
And I edited the translation in the the editor a little bit, press save and complete and I returned now suddenly it has gaps in the translation (screenshot below).

6. Home - Front page
The first image is double on the translated page.
An English image below, I added the German one in the Media Library of WPML but it doesn't get replaced.
And there is suddenly a Hello World in the editor, which we do not have on the English page.

7. About assistance dog teams
The video is showing up for the first second, then it claims cant be found.

All the topics above are for the website hidden link.
Here we used your new AI PTC and we want to switch all of our websites to it.

We've successfully connected map.pfotenpiloten.org/up/stage to the ADF staging hub and switched it to PTC.
And map.pfotenpiloten.org/up (production) needs your support to - While plugin updates on production, we noticed the WPML site key was missing which was preventing plugin updates from working. We registered the key (BJBSLz9Wct), but this triggered an AMS conflict error on WPML's server side, likely because the site's ATE account ID had shifted when we connected the staging hub earlier. The conflict means the production site's ATE connection is currently broken and translation jobs cannot be processed.

For pfotenpiloten.org/enterprise, we need to pause before proceeding. The enterprise staging site is currently acting as a hub with pfotenpiloten.org production connected to it, sharing 29,162 credits and translation memory. Disconnecting it to connect to ADF staging would reset the translation memory and glossary on both enterprise staging and production, and the credits could become inaccessible during the transition.

Key questions:
1 Can pfotenpiloten.org/enterprise staging be connected to a different hub without affecting pfotenpiloten.org production?
2. What happens to the 29,162 credits during this transition?
3. What is the safest process to reorganize the hub connections?

Hi,

Thanks for the detailed message, I understand your concerns.

However, there are quite a few different topics here, and handling all of them in a single thread would make it difficult to properly investigate and provide clear solutions. I’ll be happy to help with all of them, but I suggest we proceed one topic at a time. Please let me know which issue is the most urgent for you right now, and we’ll focus on that first.

In the meantime, I’ll try to briefly address your questions:

1) You cannot exclude specific pages from translation. The best approach is not to send them for translation, or duplicate them into the secondary language so they remain the same.
2) Custom HTML/code is not to be translated via WPML editor. Code is expected to remain the same across languages. If you need different code per language, you would need to disable the WPML editor for that page and translate it manually, or handle it via custom code (e.g. in functions.php).

https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/

3) If the connection between original and translation was broken by manual editing, please make a small change in the default language and re-translate via WPML. Manual edits in translated pages are usually overwritten.
4) For the FAQ, I would need to check how it is added (ACF, Elementor, shortcode, etc.) to advise properly.
4) This usually happens when editing an outdated translation job. Please re-translate the page to 100% and save again.
5) This depends on how that section is built (template, widget, etc.), so it would need a separate check.
6) Same here, I would need more details on how the video is added.

7) If you are referring to connecting sites, then yes, but connected sites will share translation memory and credits.

Looking forward to your reply on which issue you’d like to handle first.

Best regards,
Dražen

Dear Drazen,

thank you very much for your answers.
Okay, let's tackle the issues based on which website they are.

Starting with the points 1-7
That is on hidden link.

Point 1-3 are clear, thank you for explaining.
4 is actually a point for map.pfotenpiloten.org/up so lets to that later.

5. Page certificate - outdated translation
I clicked on translating it again automatically in the WPML dashboard but unfortunately the text in the side by side editor is still outdated. How do I re-translate correctly?

6. Front page with multiple issues
I made you a video, I think it is easier for you to take a look.
hidden link
And if needed, I can request a WP staging login for you from our team.

7. About us page - video
Also a short video that you can see it. With a great demonstration effect, normally the videos works on the english version. But my guess is, we have to break the connection to use a different embed code for the german video - correct?

Hello Miriam,

thanks for getting back.

As we limit 1 issuer per ticket to keep things clear and easier to follow, I have opened new tickets for you and lets continue there on each:

- https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-about-us-page-video/

Once we solve this we can open new for any other left issues.

As for outdated translation in translation editor, you can go and make small change to default language page title, save and then click the arrows icon to update translation and it should show latest content to be translated.

Regards,
Drazen

Dear Drazen,

thanks for the different tickets; it's easier to keep the overview. But on your front support page, it is recommended to just open one ticket.

So we keep this one here for 5. Page certificate

Okay I noticed that the error is on our WP staging site, the editor of the page looks different from the view of the page.

But there is one issue with WPML Media
I added all testimonials to the WPML media library. I don't understand why the second one in the carousel has a different name than the others.
But unfortunately the image stays in English on the German page.

New threads created by Dražen and linked to this one are listed below:

Hi,

Thanks for your message, and yes, one ticket is recommended, but ideally one issue per ticket so we can keep things clear and efficient.

For this ticket, I just want to confirm where we currently stand regarding the certificate page. Did you try my steps or you still need specific help with that page?

As for the testimonial image issue, I’ve opened a separate ticket so we can handle it properly there:
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-testimonials-issues/

Let’s continue each issue in its respective ticket to avoid confusion.

Best regards,
Dražen

Hey Dražen,

thanks. Yes, I tried your steps. But I think the problem is somewhere else. Because the WordPress editor shows a different text than the view of the page.
So I informed the IT team to take a look there.
So far I don't have an update from them.

Best regards

Hi,

Thanks for the update.

I’m not sure I fully follow. If you are using the WPML Translation Editor, the content should be managed there rather than in the WordPress editor.

Could you please share the exact steps where you see the difference between the WordPress editor and the frontend?

Also, if the issue is already visible in the default language, then it’s likely not related to WPML, since WPML only affects translated content.

Let me know and I’ll take a closer look.

Best regards,
Dražen

Exactly. I found the problem on the default language as well, so it is not related to WPML.

Could you create tickets from my third message in the beginning?
Also point no 4, which is related to the other website, DogMap, where you probably will need the login data as well.
