This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing an issue where updating a product in a secondary language opens in the WordPress editor instead of the WPML Translation Editor. Even though the Translation Editor is activated, it gets disabled after editing, and the WordPress editor is enabled again. This problem does not occur with new products.
Solution:
The issue was resolved after running the WPML Troubleshooting options after creating a full backup of the database and website then navigating to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting and performing the following actions:

  • Clear the Cache in WPML
  • Remove ghost entries from the translation tables
  • Fix element_type collation
  • Fix WPML table collation
  • Synchronize local job ids with ATE jobs
  • Synchronize translators and translation managers with ATE
  • Set language information
  • Fix post type assignment for translations

If this solution does not apply to your case because it's outdated or not relevant, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. hi,
when i try to update a product in the second language, the product opens in wordpress editor.
I activated the wmpl translation editor, but nothing changes. And if edit the product, translation editor is disabled again (before is seems to be anabled), and wordpress editor is enabled again.
How to solve this problem?
The translation editor works fine for new products.

Hi there,
Thanks for contacting WPML support.

When you make changes to the original product, the translation can be updated with the following steps:

- Go to Woocommerce > Woocommerce Multilingual > Products tab
- Click the update icon hidden link

If you're already following the above steps, please try the following:

- Edit one of the affected products in the default language
- Switch the translation editor to "WPML Translation Editor" hidden link
- In the popup, select "All Products" hidden link

Let me know please if that helps.

Kind regards,
Mohamed

Hello,
Mohamed. I did what you told me. it worked for one product i tested, but for another it did not work. I activated the WPML Translation Editor, and tried to update the product in second language, it opens the product in wordpress editor. When i open again the product in default language, wordpress editor is activated again. and the WPML Translation Editor disabled.

in the WPMl > support > Advanced Translation Editor > error logs i got this error {"url":"https:\/\/ate.wpml.org\/api\/wpml\/languages\/mappings","requestArgs":{"method":"GET"},"status":504}
Maybe that helps.

Please create a full backup of the database and website then go to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting page, and click the following:

- Clear the Cache in WPML
- Remove ghost entries from the translation tables
- Fix element_type collation
- Fix WPML table collation
- Synchronize local job ids with ATE jobs
- Synchronize translators and translation managers with ATE
- Set language information
- Fix post type assignment for translations

If the issue persists, please provide me with the steps you follow to update the product and a link to one of those products where you see the issue.

I would also need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to investigate the issue further.
Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.

Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.

❌ Please backup your database and website first❌

✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate the Plugins and the Theme and change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is critical.

✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site if needed.

If you don't see the form below, please don't add your credentials as they will be publicly exposed:
