I am trying to:
I have an ACF product field set to copy on the WPML settings.
I use the expert ACF multilingual setup and we are translating manually with WP editor (not WPML translation classic or advanced).

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:

I expected to see:
That the field is copied over when creating the default language product, but it is not. It is left blank. When we edit this ACF field also, it does not copy over.

It should copy it on creation and on editing it.

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out.

This behavior is expected, as the translation preference will only control which content appears inside the WPML Translation Editor or is copied when the translation with the WPML Translation Editor is completed.

If you use the WordPress Editor then the translation group should be set to "Different fields across languages".

https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/#using-different-fields-across-languages

A guide on how to translate content with the WordPress Editor can be found here:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/

Best regards
Andreas

I would like to add, that you could try in this case to set the fields to "Copy once" which means the field will be copied at the moment you create the first translation and from there on can get edited manually inside the WordPress Editor and will not get copied again.

More details about the translation preference:
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/recommended-custom-fields-translation-preferences-for-acf-and-wpml/

If this is not a solution in your case, I suggest using the translation option "Different fields in different languages" for your field group.
