Background of the issue:
We have an ecommerce project with jewelry named Glare on the page hidden link. We purchased credits and ran the automatic translation using WPML. The default language is Slovak, and we translated to Czech, Polish, and German.

Symptoms:
The name of the project, Glare, was translated into other languages, but it should not have been translated. For example, in the German version of the page (hidden link), Glare was translated to Blendung.

Questions:
Why was the word Glare translated when it should not have been?
Is there anything we can do to prevent the name Glare from being translated?

One of my colleagues is going to take on your ticket. In the meantime, I would like to provide some helpful information.

Creating a glossary can significantly enhance the quality of translations. It should help with the problem you have faced. Here are some helpful links:

Thank you. So I have create a glossary entry like this: hidden link
But what's now? I would like to update the existing automatic translations, but don't want to pay 760€ for credits again. Is there a way?

If not, I think, it would be easier to run bulk update query directly in database, what do you think?

Hi there.

WPML has translation memory, so you should not be charged for already translated content:
https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/how-wpml-keeps-track-of-your-translations/

You can try as a test: Go to WPML > Translation Management > select a page with that wording > and resend it for automatic translation.

Then, please check if the word has been updated in the translated versions.

Let me know how things go.

Mihai
