Background of the issue:
I am trying to report a concern regarding the credit system on my site, hidden link. When making changes to a draft page, it seems that the full amount of credits is deducted even when only a single word is changed.
Symptoms:
The full amount of credits is deducted for minor edits, such as changing a single word on a draft page.
Questions:
Could you please confirm if this is the intended behavior?
Is there a way to optimize credit usage for minor edits?
When I review them I do not see an active translation, is German currently hidden?
Looking at the URL /gimbel-partnership/ I can however, see the job from our side (EN to DE translation) with a word count of 784 and a status of not finished due to not enough credits.
and checking previous transactions I am not seeing a charge for credits on this URL existing.
These translations aren't active yet - But the question is when doing any changes to the translation does this deduct credits every time I make changes to a page?
WPML's Automatic Translation comes with a feature called Translation Memory.
"WPML’s translation memory reuses existing translations for repeated sentences, saving you money by avoiding charges for translating the same content again.
By default, WPML automatically saves translations to the translation memory whenever you use the Advanced Translation Editor and complete the translation."
However, it is importnat to note that if the change to the defautl language introduces a new string (not previously translated on the site) or changes the structure of the string you will be prompted to re translate which does cost credit.
The credits are not for the whole page just for the newly introduced items
