This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is facing an issue where social icons in the header of their multilingual site sync back to the default language when changes are made and re-translated automatically using WPML with the Gem theme and Elementor.
Solution:
We recommend manually translating the Elementor header template for each language to prevent automatic syncing of social icons. Here are the steps to follow:
1. Edit the original Elementor header in the WordPress editor.
2. In the right sidebar, under the "Language" section, deactivate our translation editor by selecting the WordPress editor instead.
3. You can now freely edit the translated template in the WordPress editor or Elementor editor.
4. Open the translation and make your changes. Since our editor is deactivated, it won't sync the translation anymore with the original.

Background of the issue:
In our website, we have social icons on our Header. We would like to have different social icons and links for each language. However, if we made changes on the default language, and I re-translate it automatically in translation management, all the social icons will be sync back to the English one. I use the gem theme, and created the Header with their theme builder.

Symptoms:
Social icons are syncing back to the default language when changes are made and re-translated automatically.

Questions:
How to ensure the 'Social Icons part' won't be sync back when we do the sync? Or we must disconnect them translated version with default language?
If we made changes to Default language, and hope to just translate the part we changed with WPML advance translator, is it possible?

Welcome to the WPML support forum. If I understand the issue correctly you would like to have a different header in your secondary language to be able to change the "Social Icons"?

I'm not sure if the social icons are coming from your theme options or if they are coming from an Elementor Widget.

I think that a solution here would be to manually translate your Elementor header template in your secondary language. That way you will be free to have a different design with different social links etc...

In short:

OK it works now. Thank you!
I just wonder it's the perfect SOP for WPML to work.
I've disconnected these translated page from the Default language (I've 8 translation)
So if in the future, we have change something on the Default page, I need to go into each language elementors to edit it. (Maybe adding a new Title, or change an image, or add a padding around an element)

ANd I've one more scenario.
Let's say I've a download page.
I hope that the Default language change will be sync forever with the translated language.
For example if I have delete a elementor container at English, what I need to do is to go into Advance translate Editor, and save again for each language?

So I need to repeat this step for 8 times to make it synchonrised right?

Just to clarify:
- Localization (different content):
If you opt for manual translation, you can create unique designs or content for each language. However, when you update the original language, you’ll need to decide whether to update the other languages as well or leave them as they are.

- Translation (same content translated):
For standard translations, we recommend using our Advanced Translation Editor (ATE). Each time you make a change to the original content, you'll need to update the translations accordingly to ensure consistency.
