I'd like to ask for your help and advice. We still think that maybe WPML is affecting the fact that our website is running slower than we would like.
We have already done some optimizations recommended by WPML team and we have a question - why is WPML debug log so big (8Mb)? And also - WPML Settings list also has a lot of information (9.2Mb).
In WPML Settings we have 60’000 custom_fields_translation entries: hidden link
How can this be?
I think each ACF only should appear once in WPML Settings.
30’000 entries are duplicates.
Entries are absolut identical: hidden link
Also interesting - a lot of fields are nearly identical:
[_glob_content_0_glob_content-col_0_glob_content-col-content-left_1_glob_content-gallery_glob_content-gallery-content_3_glob_content-gallery_image-caption-bird-species] => 1
[_glob_content_0_glob_content-col_0_glob_content-col-content-left_1_glob_content-gallery_glob_content-gallery-content_4_glob_content-gallery_image-caption-bird-species] => 1
[_glob_content_0_glob_content-col_0_glob_content-col-content-left_2_glob_content-gallery_glob_content-gallery-content_0_glob_content-gallery_image-caption-bird-species] => 1
It would be great to have your advice on this.
P.S. I wanted to provide a debug log but when I tried to copy it here in form below - your website shows me 500 Error on "Submit" action 🙂 Seems log is too big for this form.

Hi,
Thank you for contacting WPML support!
**I think each ACF only should appear once in WPML Settings.**
I'm afraid it is not possible to have it this way because it is not about fields, but instances of these fields which are generated by ACF and not WPML, however WPML needs to record so it could work with them (adjusting translation preferences, etc).
This is how ACF works - if you have for example flexible fields and if you create 30 flexible fields on the page, ACF will generate as many new custom fields.
Also what do you mean by WPML debug log? Are you referring to WordPress debug.log located in /wp-content/debug.log?
If so, this is WordPress logging system and it records PHP notices, warnings, errors, is anything there that points to WPML specifically?
By "WPML debug log" I mean debug information which is located in WPML --> Settings here: hidden link
So when you go to "Debug information" page hidden link there is such a big & long log which we even can not properly copy to send you.
Yeah, that's exactly what I'm trying to do and say 🙂 The log is so big (8.2 Mb) that it can't be copied and sent in a form on your website (your form goes down with 500 Error whcen i submit debug code through the form). I have uploaded debug code here: hidden link
That's what I'm wondering - why it's so big and if it can affect the slow performance of the website?

This should not affect website performance because this information is only loaded in very specific situations - for example when you want to set translation preferences for any of these custom fields.
Also it will load a certain number of items only even if you're going to manage some of these on WPML settings page.
