[Resolved] Links on the buttons are not being translated
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are trying to translate URLs on the links/buttons on your website using Element Pack Pro, but the URLs on the translated English page still show the original Lithuanian URLs. Solution: Unfortunately, the Element Pack Pro buttons will need replacement. This issue arises because the plugin authors need to set their code and elements in a way that makes texts and URLs recognizable by external translation software like WPML, which is not currently the case with Element Pack Pro. We have reached out to them but haven't received a response regarding WPML compatibility. You can also contact the Element Pack Pro team to encourage them to make their plugin WPML-compatible. For more details, visit https://wpml.org/plugin/element-pack-pro/.
If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we recommend opening a new support ticket. We also highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate URLs on the links/buttons on my website. On our translated English page, it still shows the original URLs in Lithuanian. I suspect this might be due to using Element Pack Pro buttons on the site. I want to know if there's a way to solve this without replacing all the buttons. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link.
Symptoms:
On the English homepage (hidden link), all the buttons (except the header) are still leading to LT pages, and there's no way to translate/adjust them.
Questions:
Could the use of Element Pack Pro buttons be causing the issue with URL translation?
Is there a way to solve the URL translation issue without replacing all the buttons?
After registering them, make a small update to the page and save. Finally, re-save the translation and check if the links are translated. If they still show the wrong URL, you can try translating them manually, by directly searching for part of the URL in the search field, inside the translation editor (they don't show by default, so you need to search with the search field). Let me know how it goes.
We tried instructions from the link provided however, even then links are still not being translated. Also, we can't find URLs in the translation editor to translate them manually - even when using the search field, nothing is showing up (attached screenshot). What else can we try?
I would like to look at this directly on your site. For this I would need temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site, preferably to a test/staging site where the problem has been replicated if possible.
The required fields can be found below the comments section. The information you enter is private, i.e. only you and I can see it and have access to it.
I may need to replicate your website locally. To do this, I need to temporarily install a plugin called "Duplicator" or "All in One WP Migration" on your website. This will allow me to create a copy of your website and content. Once the issue is resolved, I will delete the local website. Let me know if this works for you.
IMPORTANT
Please make a backup copy of the site files and database before giving us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields, this means your post and site login details are being made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details if you do not see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:
Thank you for sharing access. Unfortunately, the Element Pack Pro buttons will need replacement. Let me explain. To make content translatable, Plugin authors need to properly set their code and elements, so the translatable bits (like, texts and URLs) are actually recognizable by external translation software, like WPML. This is not the case for Element Pack Pro.
