This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is unable to migrate existing translations from Translatepress to WPML without redoing the work, which is a deal-breaker due to lack of technical expertise, time constraints, and budget limitations. The client has reverted to their previous translation method and is considering a refund due to these challenges.
Solution:
We suggested that the client can request a refund directly through https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds/. For migrating translations from Translatepress to WPML, we recommended performing this task on a staging site to prevent any disruptions on the live site. We provided guidance on setting up a staging site using the WP Staging plugin, which is free and simple to use. Additionally, we offered assistance with the test migration on the staging site to ensure everything works smoothly.

Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If this solution does not resolve your issue, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Hi WPML Support Team,

I am writing to request a full refund for my recent purchase.

After trying to set up the plugin on my Live website, I found that I am unable to migrate or pull my existing translations into WPML without re-doing the entire work.

I would like to clarify why this is a deal-breaker for me:

Technical Expertise: I am not an expert with WPML's advanced configurations, and the learning curve is steeper than I anticipated.

Time Constraints: My website is currently live. Learning the system and re-translating everything from scratch would take an immense amount of time that I simply do not have.

Budget Constraints: I am currently unable to hire a specialized developer or expert to handle this migration for me.

To keep my site running without interruptions, I have already reverted to my previous translation method. Given these challenges, WPML is not the right fit for my current situation.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us

You can directly ask for a refund on this page: https://wpml.org/purchase/refunds/

However, if there is something we can help you with the migration of the translated content, we are more than happy to do it 🙂

Best regards,
Carlos

Note: If there is any issue with the refund, you can send a message in this same ticket.

Hi,

Thank you for your prompt response and for offering your help.

I appreciate the gesture! If there is a simple and direct way to migrate my existing translations from Translate press to WPML without me having to manually re-translate or re-enter the content, I would be open to trying it.

However, please keep in mind:

The site is Live, so I cannot risk any broken pages or missing translations during the process.

I am not a developer, so I need a solution that doesn't involve complex coding or database manipulation.

Could you please explain how this migration can be done easily? If it requires a lot of manual work or advanced technical skills, I would still prefer to proceed with the refund.

Looking forward to your guidance.

Hi there,

There isn't a direct way to migrate the translated content from Translatepress to WPML; however, there is a way to migrate, but you should do it on a staging site to avoid any harm to the live site: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/migration-from-translatepress/

We are more than happy to help you with the test migration in the staging site and check the results.

Note: You can easily create a staging site using the WP Staging plugin; it is free to use and very simple.
