Background of the issue:
I want to start using the 'Advanced Translation Editor' on a site that up to now was still using the 'Classic Translation Editor'. The site I need help with is hidden link. I use the 'Advanced Translation Editor' on other sites and it works.

Symptoms:
On the first page I tried using the 'Advanced Translation Editor', the text does not appear translated on the front end and under 'Translations queue' it keeps showing as 'In progress'.

Questions:
Why does the text not appear translated on the front end?
Why does the translation show as 'In progress' under 'Translations queue'?

Hello,

Please let me know which of these three jobs is giving you issues with the translation.

Did you make sure that the translation is completed to 100%?

Best regards
Andreas

The first one: 'Remplacements'.
Yes I translated every field, the system tells me my translation is done but obviously it's bugging.

I need to give you access so you can check hands on for me.

How can I do that.. I tink you need to turn on some sort of option on here, so I can give you login info hidden from other users, correct ?

Thanks ! I have created a temp login :

As you can see I seem to have the whole page translated, yet it still has old information and all the new content, though appearing in the back end Advanced Editorl, do not appear at all on the front end.

It is a page that already was a duplicate (without translation, just an exact copy) before I activated the Advanced Editor. Not sure how that impacts anything.

A / All I want to achieve for NOW is:
- Translate everything manually (never automated, at least not for now).
- Only one person translates, so no complicated 'jobs basket, put away for review' etc sort of things. No need for team tools. SIMPLE: just me. I translate it shows up on the site in the simplest possible workflow.

B / What I'd like LATER:
Start using the Advanced Editor on old content, to step-by-step have it all 'modernized' eventually, but that scares me a lot, not sure I understand well, but if/when it works, I'll have to re-copy-paste all my already translated content in the Advanced Editor, correct ?
Am just sharing this for info but for now let's focus on A :0)

Queue still showing as needing to be translated.png
Asked to be not automated yet it was automated.png
Asked to be not automated yet it was automated, why?.png
All transaltion engines are off, why did it try to push automated translaltion on me ?.png

This seems to be an issue with the "Table" widget of the plugin "Ultimate Addons for Elementor".

WPML by default supports all widgets that are shipped with Elementor and Elementor Pro to make them translatable on the WPML Translation Editor.

Every Custom Elementor Widget must have an XML configuration so that it can be translated using the WPML Translation Editor.

It is the theme author's job to create such a configuration in a wpml-config.xml file in the root directory of the theme or plugin.

Guide:
https://wpml.org/documentation/support/language-configuration-files/how-to-register-page-builder-widgets-for-translation/

We also provide the following plugin, which makes creating such a config easier, but we do not recommend using it in a production environment:
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/wpml-compatibility-test-tools-plugin/

If the author does not provide such a config, you can alternatively create one yourself. This config can be stored under WPML > Settings > Custom XML Configuration.

We can further offer a WPML test site on which we can recreate the issue and I assist you with a basic configuration for a couple of widgets, but if there are many affected widgets it would be better to reach the author of those widgets.

---

Alternative: Use the WordPress Editor as the translation method instead.

Instructions for translating with the WordPress editor:

Thank you, so..

A.
If some elements cannot be translated due to a plugin issue like the one mentioned, then nothing can appear translated on the front end until all such third party tools are removed from the page?
Is that what I am supposed to understand in this case ?

So not even Elementor's regular text blocks and titles in this case can show on the frontend.. Its confusing, why is that ?

B.
Need to look into:
WordPress editor, never had, always worried of creating more issues.
If it so great why do we even need your Advanced Editor ?
I have no clue how this tool relates to WPML.
Can we completely deactivate WPML for this, or do they sort of work together ?!?

C.
Using the old WPML system I had no issues using this 3rd party Tables plugin, sad it won't work with the 'Advanced' one.

Maybe the best route is to revert to the old editor and forget about ever using the Advanced editor on any older site. It's kind of scary having to juggle all these things, wondering each time if WPML will or will not work with such and such plugin is quite a headache.

Is there any date, future where my sites could be completely f***ed because you decide to pull the plug on the old editor ? That worries me a lot.

Can one eventually use all three in conjunction:

- WPML Classic Editor
- Advanced Editor
- Worpdress Editor

???

Of course only one on each page, post..

without creating a complete crazy mess and breaking a site ?

The expected behaviors can be determined like this:

1) Manual translations from the WordPress Editor are lost when re-translating via ATE (Advanced Translation Editor) or CTE (Classic Translation Editor). This occurs unless switching on the original content the translation method to use the WordPress Editor first.

2) Translations from the Advanced Translation Editor are available on the Classic Translation Editor.

3) Translations from the Classic Translation Editor are not available on the Advanced Translation Editor.

There are no plans to change those behaviors, as they are technically not possible.

About the issue on your site:

I can assist with creating a custom XML config for this widget if you could install the latest version of ""Ultimate Addons for Elementor" on a WPML test site which I will be glad to provide for testing.

I'd definitely appreciate that:

"I can assist with creating a custom XML config for this widget if you could install the latest version of ""Ultimate Addons for Elementor" on a WPML test site which I will be glad to provide for testing."

I'll make a simple test site this week-end and get back to you next week :0)

I could send you a link to a test site with WPML on one minute, if you wish?

I prefer I make a quick site this week-end, that way I'll have it at hand for other testing. I'll keep it as a WMPL test-ground for compatibility with addons. Thank you for the offer :-0)
