Background of the issue:
I am trying to convert my footer using autotranslation to German on my site hidden link. I used WPML for this task.

Symptoms:
The translation shows as 'translation completed', but the front end still displays the footer in English instead of German.

Questions:
Why is the footer still in English after the translation shows as completed?
How can I ensure the footer displays in German on the front end?

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support. Sorry for the delay due to high workload and the reply time will be shorter from now. To take a closer look at this issue, please provide temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP Login info) to your site (preferably staging site), so that I can look into your setup and debug the issue.

Your next answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.

=== Please backup your database and website ===

✙ I would additionally need your permission to deactivate and reactivate Plugins and the Theme and to change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is essential.

Thank you

Thanks for providing the login details. I’ve noticed that the elements which are being used in the footer are not available for translation in the WPML Translation Editor as you can see in the attached screenshot.

In this case, could you please try to translate it manually by following the below steps:

1. Edit the footer template using the Cornerstone editor.
2. In the top-right, click the language you want to edit(screenshot attached).
3. Edit the elements with untranslated texts and manually enter translations.

Here are docs for more details:
