This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
If you're using the 'Don't update translation' button in WPML and expecting changes in the original language to automatically update in other languages, but find that this isn't happening, you might be misunderstanding the function of this button. The 'Don't update translation' button is designed not to update translations when changes are made to the original language.
Solution:
We recommend checking the functionality of the 'Don't update translation' button by following these steps:
1. Make changes to your page in the original language.
2. Click the 'Don't update translation' button in the language sidebar.
3. Verify if the translations remain unchanged, as this is the expected behavior.
If you need to see the changes reflected in other languages, you should not use the 'Don't update translation' button.
For further assistance, please provide screenshots of your process, including the use of the 'Minor Edit' button and the resulting status of translations. Additionally, enable and provide debug information by following the instructions here: http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/

If this solution does not apply to your situation, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Should you need further assistance, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to update content on a page in the Original language and want the changes to be automatically reflected in other languages without manually updating each translation. I am using the 'Minor Edit' button in WPML, which I believe should make these updates automatic. I also have the 'use translation if available or fallback to default language' option selected in WPML settings.

Symptoms:
When I select the 'Minor Edit' button, the changes are not automatically reflected in other languages. I still need to go into each language and save it before the updates are applied.

Questions:
Am I mistaking how the Minor Edit button works, or is it just not working as expected?

Thank you for contacting WPML support.

The translation will not be updated if you use the Minor edit option, as shown in the screenshot. So, the behavior is expected.

If the Minor Edit button does not update the translations, why does it still make the refresh icon appear on the translations rather than keeping them as a pencil icon?

Also, how would I make an image populate to the other languages from the original without needing to go into each language and manually update the other languages? Based on the option I've selected, and with the combination of the Minor Edit button, I expected it to update with the original languages text rather than showing the refresh icon and needing to be updated anyway.

Can you provide more clarification on these questions, as well as more details on what the Minor Edit button actually does?

Yes, the "Don't update translation" button should not update the translations. I tested the fresh local installation, and the translation status remained unchanged. The button does exactly what it sounds like: it doesn't update the translation when you update the page in the original language.

Could you please provide screenshots of the entire process? This includes checking the button, making changes, and showing the status change.
