Skip to content Skip to sidebar

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The Tripgo Theme from Ovatheme is adding custom fields "General Settings" to each content on the WordPress Editor which allows you to set a Header, Sidebar, or Footer Template per content.

On the translated content the template do not show up.

Solution:
First, make sure that your Templates are translated.

Then go to WPML > Settings > Custom Field Translation and set the following fields to "copy":

ova_met_footer_version
ova_met_header_version
ova_met_main_layout
ova_met_wide_site

Now, when translating the content again, WPML will copy the General Settings for each content accordingly.

Tell us what you are trying to do?
I built a template for individual blog posts via Elementor Theme Builder. This shows normally on the original Spanish page.

However, on the translated page, I'm seeing the default theme builder footer.

Hello,

Could you please increase your WP Memory limit to 256M? 128M is the minimum required by WPML.
Your current values are:

PHP Memory Limit 5120M
WP Memory Limit 40M
Add this code to your wp-config.php to increase WP memory:

define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M');

Paste it just before:

/ That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. /

Now, verify the current settings at WPML > Support > WordPress. Then complete the translation again.

These settings can be limited directly by your hosting provider, so I recommend you contact and ask them to modify them directly.
If you can get even higher values It would be great.

https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/
Note: WPML needs a minimum WP Memory limit of 128M to work only under a minimal environment, which means, with a default theme and no other plugins installed.

If this will still not solve the issue, please go to WPML > Settings > Custom Field Translation and click on "Show systems fields".

Search for the field "_elementor_conditions" and set it to "Copy".

Then apply the translation of your Elementor templates again, so that the display conditions will be copied to the translated templates.

Let me know in case further assistance is needed.

Best regards
Andreas

Hello,

Have you already tried to update the theme and all plugins to their latest available versions?

You will find the WPML Updates at Plugins > Add new > Commercial > Search for updates.

If this will not solve the issue, then I would like to offer to have a closer look at the problem and request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to the website to investigate this issue further.

You can find the required fields below the comment section when you log in to leave the next reply. The information you provide is private, which means only you and I can see and access it.

IMPORTANT
Please be sure to make a backup copy of the website and database before allowing us access.
If you can't see the wp-admin / FTP fields, your post and website credentials are set as PUBLIC. DO NOT publish the data unless you see the required wp-admin / FTP fields.

Hello,

On the translated post the Footer is set to general inside the WordPress Editor's General Settings section.

Please go to WPML > Settings > Custom Field Translation and set the following fields to "copy":

ova_met_footer_version
ova_met_header_version
ova_met_main_layout
ova_met_wide_site

Now, when translating the content again, WPML will copy the General Settings for each content accordingly.

On many translated pages, the header overlaps with the content.

And the header does not inherit the style of the original page

e.g

Original page:

Translated page:

Hello,

Please take kindly note that we handle only one issue per ticket.

The fact that the translated pages appear not to work as expected on the WooCommerce pages seems to be an issue between "Elementor Header & Footer Builder", "WooCommerce" and "WPML".

I have split this issue into a new ticket which I will reply to you shortly.

Best regards
Andreas
