This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client wants to offer several predesigned Elementor template kits in different languages and is unsure whether to install each kit on a separate WordPress site and then translate, to translate the JSON files outside of WordPress, or if there is another approach.
Solution:
We suggest trying our WPML Import/Export plugin as a potential solution. This might help in managing the translations within WPML. However, since there are no standard steps for this specific case, it may require custom coding, which is beyond the support we can provide here. If the WPML Import/Export plugin does not meet the needs, the client will need to explore other solutions or custom development.

Please note that this solution might be irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case. If so, we highly recommend checking related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If you still need assistance, please open a new support ticket.

I'm eager to offer several predesigned Elementor template kits in a localized/translated version [from the original (English)]. Each kit includes 10-15 pre-designed page layouts.

I'm not sure if I need to install each individual Elementor template kit in its own WordPress site/instance and then translate & then export as a compiled language "version" of the kit, OR to translate the JSON files of each kit outside of WordPress but then ready to upload/install, OR if there is another approach.

I could not find online documentation for this type of translation effort, and Elementor template kits (including those from Elementor and Envato) are available only in English.

I'm hoping that WPML can offer a workable approach.

Hello!

I'll try to help you out while a supporter takes your case.

Your situation is indeed quite particular and it probably will require some custom coding at one point.

However, if you're focusing on WPML translations, then maybe you can try our import/Export plugin: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/wpml-export-and-import/

Could that work for you?

Regards.

Thanks, Alejandro.

I'm not sure that is a solution; I am less concerned about the site contents, since the site content is dummy Lorem Ipsum text which doesn't need translation.... basically, only the template interface needs translation.

Your solution *might* be an option, yet also creates a lot of work... because I would need to create 1 site with 1 template, then export - and start over for each template kit. I was hoping to avoid that method and save time. :-/

I'm not sure if there is a solution at all but look forward to more feedback and guidance!

Hi,

This is Andrey. As Alejandro mentioned earlier, there are no standard steps to handle your case; thus, you could not find any documentation. Such a scenario may need a script that requires custom coding that is beyond the scope of our support service provided here. Therefore, you would need to find a workable approach on your own. I suggest trying out what Alejandro has suggested and seeing if it works for you. It could be a good starting point.

Thanks to you both. I appreciate the feedback - it looks like a special edge case... I'll need to see if it's really worth it!
