Dear Support Team,

I am encountering an issue with updating the translation for my footer. Despite following the instructions provided for Divi Builder translation at WPML's theme compatibility guide (https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/divi-builder/#translating-custom-global-header-footer) , the English version of "My Main Global Footer" fails to display correctly. It appears that the site continues to load the outdated English version, even though I have completed all necessary translations.

Additionally, I have cleared all caches, both locally and on the server, to ensure this is not a caching issue. However, the problem persists.

Thank you for your assistance with this matter. I look forward to your guidance on resolving this issue.

Best Regards,
Alexander

Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch. I've reviewed your English language content on hidden link and I'm uncertain about the modifications you've made in the backend. Given that these changes aren't reflecting on the frontend, it's possible that your cache plugins are causing the issue.

Could you please attempt to clear your website cache? Additionally, I recommend conducting a conflict test as outlined here: https://wpml.org/faq/checklist-before-opening-a-ticket-in-wpml-support/#4-is-a-theme-or-a-plugin-causing-a-conflict to see if it resolves the issue.

Dear Kor,

Thank you for your response and guidance. I have taken the steps recommended, including deactivating all non-WPML plugins in a staging environment. I've also addressed the cache concerns as I have already previously mentioned. Despite these efforts, the problem persists.

I'm attaching a screenshot to illustrate that the footer on the English pages remains unchanged and does not reflect the updates made.

Could you please take a moment to review this issue further?

Thank you for your time and assistance with this matter.

Best Regards,
Ralph

Thanks for your reply.

I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.

Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.

Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.

✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.

Also, I checked your debug information, I noticed that your MySQL version is below the plugin minimum requirements as described at: https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/ . Kindly contact your hosting provider and ask them to update the MySQL version to 5.6+ for you.

Dear Kor,

Thanks for your support. The way you propose seems to work for now, however, I still have a couple of questions:

Question 1: Could you briefly inform me which magic you applied, so that I can more easily fix such problems myself in the future?

Question 2: Does it mean I now have to use the advanced translation editor in general? Because I like the old one much better.

Question 3: Is there, e.g., a way that I can upload different images, media in the English version? None of the media/images seem to be displayed in the advanced editor.

Question 4: When translating, updating pages, I can easily go to the WordPress Pages section, click on the WPML icon, and jump into the WPML editor. However, with the footer, it seems that I have to go through the following tedious procedure. Is there an easier way to achieve this?

Veränderungen auf Deutsch vornehmen: Divi —> Theme Builder —> Global Footer.
Name aktuell: My Main Global Footer-DE.
WPML —> Translation Management.
My Main Global Footer-DE —> Assign to Translator —> Add to Translation Basket.
Translation Basket —> Send all Items for Translation.
Click on the Link in the Email.
Classic Translation Editor Opens.

Many thanks and all the best, Ralph Alexander

Thank you for responding.

I want to inform you that according to our support policy, we can only address one issue per ticket.

This approach helps our support team to concentrate on one problem at a time and also assists other users in finding solutions to their inquiries more efficiently.

However, I will do my best to address any remaining questions you have, as well as any new ones. If you have additional issues, please open a new ticket or initiate a new chat for them.

Question 1: Could you briefly inform me which magic you applied, so that I can more easily fix such problems myself in the future?
I've disabled the Global for the modules in the Footer Template and this allows the contents to be translated.

Question 2: Does it mean I now have to use the advanced translation editor in general? Because I like the old one much better.
Yes, you need to use the Translation Management > Add the pages/templates into basket and translate it

Question 3: Is there, e.g., a way that I can upload different images, media in the English version? None of the media/images seem to be displayed in the advanced editor.
You can use the media translation https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/media-translation/

Question 4: When translating, updating pages, I can easily go to the WordPress Pages section, click on the WPML icon, and jump into the WPML editor. However, with the footer, it seems that I have to go through the following tedious procedure. Is there an easier way to achieve this?
DIVI templates work differently, so you have to use Translation Management as explained here https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/divi-builder/#translating-custom-global-header-footer
