This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client reported that automatic translation was not starting on their website.
Solution: We found that the site UUID on the client's site did not match the one on our server. We corrected this issue, and now the automatic translation should work properly.
Please note that this solution might be irrelevant if it's outdated or not applicable to your case. If the problem persists, we highly recommend checking related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If you still need assistance, please open a new support ticket.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Thank you for contacting WPML support, I'd be happy to help you with this issue.
On your site, I've tried to switch the translation mode to "Translate What You Choose" and translate a page manually in Advanced Translation Editor (ATE).
The translation is completed in ATE but it is not delivered to your site completely.
Then I download a backup file of your site and restore it on my localhost, the page is translated completely. I think there could be a security plugin/module that blocks our domains from communicating with your site.
I suggest you follow some steps below and see if it helps:
1. Enable a minimal environment:
- Deactivate all non-WPML plugins
- Switch to a standard theme of WordPress
2. Contact the hosting support and ask them to add our domains to the whitelist and translate the content again.
❌ IMPORTANT: Please backup your database and website before proceeding ❌
I also see there are 49k credits on your site. I'm afraid that the credits aren't refundable as we pay the translation engines for those translations, and can't be reverted. However, the content that is translated in Advanced Translation Editor will be saved to the translation memory and you won't be charged again for the same content next time.
Please try some steps below and let me know how it goes:
1. Go to Plugins > Add New > Commercial tab > Unregister and re-register your site with a new sitekey.
2. Go to WPML > Settings > Translation Editor > Editor for new translations: Switch to Classic Translation Editor > Save > Reload the page and switch back to Advanced Translation Editor (recommended).
If it does not help, I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. Your next reply is set to private to share the info.
The site UUID on your site is not matched with the one on our server and I've fixed that issue. Now the automatic translation works properly. Can you please recheck this?
Yes the auto translations are working now!
I have an issue with the language switcher. When I click EN it goes to the English version but when I click EL it doen't go to the Greek version.
The language switcher is shortcode in Woodmart > Header builder > Header Minimalism
New threads created by Long Nguyen and linked to this one are listed below:
We can handle one issue per ticket only so I will split your second issue with the language switcher into another ticket.
If you see the main issue of this ticket with automatic translation is resolved, please mark it as Resolved.
Thanks.
