This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was trying to use the automatic translation feature for blog posts but was unable to see the option for auto translation in their setup. They had the 'Translate what You choose' mode set with the Classic Editor because they needed to manually translate products. Additionally, the client encountered issues with menu translations where the structure and submenus were not correctly translated or synchronized.

Solution:
We informed the client that the automatic translation feature is only available when the 'Advanced Translation Editor' is active in WPML > Settings. The 'Classic Editor' does not support automatic translation. After switching to the Advanced Translation Editor, the client was able to use the automatic translation as desired. For the menu translation issue, we advised the client to open a new support ticket, as per our Support Policy, we address one issue per ticket to maintain focus and efficiency.

Please note that this solution might not be relevant if it's outdated or not applicable to your case. If you're still experiencing issues, we highly recommend checking related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket with us.

Tell us what you are trying to do? translate posts automatically

Is there any documentation that you are following?
https://wpml.org/documentation/automatic-translation/automatically-translating-multiple-translation-jobs-in-bulk/

Is there a similar example that we can see?
n/a

What is the link to your site?

the option to automatically translate blog posts is not available in my setup.
I have had automatically translate everything turned on, but I need to exclude products. So I had to disable that feature.

I want to translate all blogs automatically to German and then go over them manually.

My WPML > Settings > Translation mode is set to Translate what You choose > classic editor (because I need to manually translate the products)
Posts are set to translatable (only show translated items)
Categories fallback

Why can I not see the auto translation for blogs?

Hi there.

Automatic Translation works only when we have the "Advanced Translation Editor" active in the WPML > Settings.

The "Classic Editor" does not support automatic translation.

After you automatically translate, you should be able to edit the translation and change it to what you want, or you can even remove the translation if you don't like it and add it on your own (this way, you will get the credits back that were used for the translation).

I hope that you will find this information helpful. 🙂

Hi Mihai ,

Thanks for your reply. I switched to Advanced Translation Editor and it worked!
The only thing is, that managing products is much, much better in the classic editor.

I have another problem with translating the menus:
original English hidden link

German translation: hidden link
the structure, submenus are messed up. I'm using menu Sync
why is the menu title Blog not translated to German? or at least taken in English

Hi there and welcome back!

From my understanding, the initial issue reported here was resolved. I'm happy to hear that! 🙂

However, it seems that there is still a different issue happening that you are looking to have fixed.

Per our Support Policy, we can handle only one issue per ticket.

Continuing with one issue per ticket helps not only supporters to focus on one issue at once but also enables other users to find solutions to their questions faster.

Can you please mark this ticket as resolved and open a new ticket for any new issue that you encounter?

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Mihai
