Hi there, I have two issues. First, I saw that I was billed a shocking 418 euros for automatic translation, which I did not want. Secondly, I cannot find the "Payments" tab nor the "Tools" tab in the Translation Dashboard anymore to even turn it off. I was wondering how I may be able to go about turning it off, and if I could get a refund for those translations I did not want. |

Hi there, Thanks for contacting WPML Support. I’m Prosenjit from the WPML Development Team, and I’ll be happy to assist you with this. I completely understand the concerns. Let me address them one by one. Regarding the issue of not seeing the Payment / Tools tab in the Translation Dashboard: From the screenshot you shared, it looks like the default translation editor on your site is currently set to the Classic Translation Editor. When the site is using the Classic Translation Editor, certain tabs such as the Payments tab will not appear in the Translation Dashboard. To make that tab visible and disable the subscription, please follow these steps: - Go to WPML → Settings Once that is done, you should see the Payments tab in the Translation Dashboard, and from there you should be able to disable the subscription. Regarding the refund for the automatic translation charges: When Automatic Translation is enabled, the translation jobs are sent to the translation services used by WPML, and the credits are charged as part of that process. From what you described, it sounds like you would like to keep some translations, remove others, and get a refund only for the ones you do not want. Unfortunately, since automatic translation processes items in batches, it is not possible for us to selectively remove certain translated items and issue a partial refund only for those specific translations from our side. That said, I will also forward your case to the appropriate team for further review and consideration. The final decision regarding any possible refund would be up to them, but I will make sure the situation is properly shared. As soon as I receive any update from them, I will let you know right away. Please let me know if you have any other questions or need any help with the steps above. I’ll be happy to assist. Best regards, |

Thank you Prosenjit! That solution worked for me. Is it possible to remove all translated items done in the last week and get a refund instead? Thank you again. |

Hi Jiyoon, Thank you for your reply. I completely understand your concern here! Before I can give you a clear answer regarding the request to remove the translated items from the last week and review the refund possibility, I’d like to better understand exactly what happened and what outcome you’re looking for. Could you please help me with the following? - Would you like to keep some translations and remove only certain ones from the last week? Or do you want all translations from the last week removed? The reason I’m asking is that this makes a difference when we review whether the case may qualify for further consideration. For example, if there was a problem on our side, or if the workflow was unclear and caused a genuine misunderstanding, we can certainly take that into account. Once I have your clarification, I’ll continue with the internal review and update you accordingly. Looking forward to your response. Best regards, |

Hi Prosenjit, Thank you for your prompt and helpful response. Here are my answers to your questions: - Would you like to keep some translations and remove only certain ones from the last week? Or do you want all translations from the last week removed? I would like all translations, and any that were part of the recent billing, to be removed. - Do you remember how Automatic Translation was enabled on the site? Usually, it requires a manual action — for example, selecting content and sending it for automatic translation. During that process, you should normally see an option asking whether you want to continue translating all eligible content automatically, or only future content. I did perform the manual action to enable Automatic Translation; mainly because it was near the end of our cycle and we urgently needed one specific page translated, and it was unclear how many words/credits it would take. So I enabled it for this function. I was promptly billed the initial 100 euros, so I thought that covered everything already. I don't remember seeing that option of future content vs. all eligible content, but I think I selected future content? We had not added any new content after that, which is why I was surprised to see so many translations done. - Did you notice any message or warning that content is translated/translating automatically after activation? I received 1 email on March 13, 2026 that informed me that a few of my old pages had translated, but I thought that was already accounted for in the 100 euro billing. I am just confused because we have been able to translate our site without issue just using our subscription plan for the past 5 years; it was only this year we needed a bump up that we wanted just for that 1 page I mentioned earlier. So I was shocked by the sudden 418 euro billing. The process for navigating this has been very opaque and difficult to calculate. Thank you, |

Hi Jiyoon, Thank you for your patience while we checked this further internally. I have an update for you. Regarding removing the translated content: Unfortunately, we’re not able to selectively remove translations remotely from our side, as we do not have access to your site setup to perform those deletions for you. However, if you would like to remove the translations that were created and are no longer needed, you can do that directly from your site by following the steps in this guide: https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-delete-the-translation-of-a-page/ Regarding the billing: I have good news — we have processed the refund for the charges related to this case, including: - the initial €100 safety limit charge So the full amount related to these unwanted automatic translations has now been refunded from our side. Please note that depending on your payment provider or bank, it may take a few business days for the refunded amount to appear. I hope it helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions. I’ll be happy to help further. Best regards, |
