Problem:
The client was facing issues with their multilingual WordPress site using WPML. The English translation of the homepage was showing a 404 error if the website runs with "A Different Directory per Language".
Solution:
We identified that the 404 error on the English homepage was due to the server configuration not properly handling 'Different languages in directories'. We recommended contacting the hosting provider to address this server configuration issue.
We also recommended recreating the English menu and syncing it using WPML > WP Menus Sync to address issues with the menu caused by changing the site's default language.
