I am trying to: Log out

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

I expected to see: I expected to become logged out of the wp admin when I clicked "log out".

Instead, I got: Nothing happens...

I have also deactivated every other plugin other than the WPML plugin and use a stock wordpress theme.

Hey there,

Thanks for your contact!

Let's try some possible solutions for this issue. First of all, as a quick test, may I kindly ask you to remove the WPML plugins and reinstall them? Then, please follow these steps:

- Just to be safe, make sure to have a website backup before proceeding
- Go to WPML -> Support in your admin dashboard
- Click the “troubleshooting” link bellow the plugin versions list
- Look for the “Clean up” section and hit these buttons:

# Clear the cache in WPML
# Remove ghost entries from the translation tables
# Fix element_type collation
# Synchronize local job ids with ATE jobs
# Synchronize translators and translation managers with ATE
# Set language information
# Fix post type assignment for translations

Please give it a try and check if the issue will be solved.

Looking forward to your reply. Thank you.

Kind regards,
Mateus.

Thanks for the reply!

I did the list but unfortunately it did nothing it seems like. I still cannot log out.

But I found another issue now which I think is related to this. When I try to save another plugin's settings page which is completely unrelated to WPML – I get a console error and also this plugin's settings page is not saved. So it seems like WPML is causing some form of error on the site.

Please look at the provided screenshot with the error message in the console visible.

Thanks.

Hello there,

Thanks for your reply.

I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

Privacy and Security Policy

We have strict policies regarding privacy and access to your information. Please see:
https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/privacy-and-security-when-providing-debug-information-for-support/

**IMPORTANT**

- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this: hidden link

Please, let me know if you need any additional details. Have a nice day.

Hi there,

Thank you for providing the credentials.

It seems that the website crashed at some point during our tests and diagnosis, may I kindly ask you to restore a backup version?

This happened when we were trying to make a website copy, in order to test it in a different server. We were able to do it, and we could solve the issue there by following these steps:

- We went to WPML -> Languages -> Language URL format
- Changed it to 'Language name added as a parameter', saved and re-saved the permalinks page
- This action itself seemed to do the trick
- Then we returned the Language URL format to 'different languages in directories', saved and resaved the permalinks page

After this we were able to log out without problems, even if WPML was enabled.

Could you please give it a try in your end and let us know if it works for you as well?

Thank you.
