[Resolved] Category doesn't follow on translated Post
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: If you're experiencing issues where the taxonomy does not correctly translate when using WPML to translate an article from French to English, and the category displays as 'Non Classifié' instead of the expected category. Solution: 1) Ensure that the Single Post Template is translated. 2) Check if you are using Elementor or any custom widgets to display the post meta and verify their settings. 3) Edit the original content. 4) Save the original post. 5) Apply the translation using the WPML Translation Editor. This process should resolve the issue with the taxonomy not following in the translated version.
If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we recommend opening a new support ticket. Additionally, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Hello,
I can see on the backend that the post is assigned to "Cats".
This might be a rendering issue with the element that you are using to display the post meta.
Are you using Elementor to display the category on the posts?
Please provide more details about how the templates are created and if there are any custom widgets in use that are not being shipped together with Elementor.
Hello Andreas,
Thank you for your quick reply.
The breadcrumbs are in an Elementor template using the YOAST widget.
In French, it works – but not in English, or only when saving the English article directly. This leads me to believe that the issue is with the indexing, which is not happening automatically.
I can give you access to my site if needed. Thanks.

I would like to offer to take a closer look and request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to the site to investigate the issue further.
The required fields are below the comment section when you log in to leave the next reply. The information you provide is private, meaning only you and I can see and access it.
IMPORTANT
Please be sure to back up the site and database before granting us access.
If you can't see the "wp-admin / FTP" fields, your post and site login details will be set to "PUBLIC". DO NOT publish the data unless you see the required wp-admin / FTP fields.
I may need to install a plugin called "All In One WP Migration" here to create a copy of the site that I can use to investigate the issue further.
However, I would also be very grateful if you could provide a staging site or copy of the website from your server for this purpose.
If you have any questions about creating such a staging site, you can consult your hosting provider. Please note that WPML must also be registered on this staging site at https://wpml.org/de/account/websites/.
If you are not able to provide such a copy of the website for testing, please let me know on this ticket.
