Ole Kroer

Hi Support
We have a running site (gpmd.dk) using wpml with 8 different language. We want to make some design changes on all pages. we use wp bakerybuilder for making page settings. We have tried making changes on the main language danish, makin new rows, moving around with excisting rows, and all is fine in danish. but if we move rows and insert new row/data and go to translation pages the translated text is not moved, and old rows are still in the translation. Is there a way to do the job without using copy paste (this will be a very long job...)
hope you can give some help
kind regards
Ole

Hello Ole,
Thank you for contacting us

Please follow these steps:
- Create a full backup of the site
- Update any outdated plugins or themes
- Flush any cache memory that might exist
- Re-save the permalinks
- Edit the page in the original language -> Make a small change to the content -> Save the changes and update the translation

Could you tell me if the issue disappeared?

Note: I recommend you to read this documentation https://wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/how-to-build-multilingual-sites-with-wpbakery-page-builder-and-wpml/ and make sure you are following all the steps to translate the content correctly.

Regards,
Carlos

Hi Carlos
We have tried adding some new text, rows and moving text around on a page (which already have been translated before - with the your old translation editor). After making the changes our wpml settings is setup so if we make new pages the new advanced translation editor shall be used, if so no translations are shown, but if we change settings to ole translation editor all old translations is shown. But.. new rows and new text element is shown , and this is perfect. but if we move around with text or picture element, the moved elements is shown as new element with no translation, and the old translation element is still shown. Is the best way to delete all translations on a staking test site, make the new design setup on the staking site and copy/paste text translations from the production site ?
kind regards
Ole

Hi Ole,

In this scenario, when only rows and elements are moved around, I recommend you make a small change in one of the texts, like add a dot or a space, and then save the changes. That will update the entry in the database for that particular content and it will trigger the translation update needed option 🙂
