This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client wants to change the test domain name of a site and move it to a production site, preferably without using plugins. The site is hosted on Siteground, where they will change the domain name.
Solution:
After changing the domain name, the client must generate a new key for that new domain from here. Then you can go back to the WordPress backend > Plugins > Add New > Commercial > UNregister WPML from the old staging key > REregister WPML with the new production key.
Changing domains or migrating sites is not a simple thing for someone who You've never done it before, which is why we recommend plugins like Duplicator. However, since Siteground has a strong support team, we are confident that they will be able to help you with the domain change process. Each WPML key that is generated is assigned to a specific domain. Therefore, every time you change the domain of the site, you will have to generate a new key that will be assigned to that specific domain. You will need a unique WPML key for each unique domain. Additionally, we recommend that you consult the guide on using the Advanced Translation Editor when moving or using a copy of your site at this link.
If the solution provided is not relevant to your case, because it could be outdated or simply not applicable to your situation, we suggest opening a new support ticket . We also strongly recommend reviewing the known issues at known issues, checking the version of the permanent fix and committing You have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins.
