This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client needs to change the site language from EN_us to EN_gb in WordPress using WPML because of regional language differences like 'carts' versus 'baskets'.
Solution:
We recommend making a full backup of your site first. Then, follow these steps:
1. Navigate to WPML -> Languages -> Site Languages and click on 'Edit Languages'.
2. In the English line, change the Default locale column to 'en_GB' and save it.
3. Go back to WPML -> Languages, click on 'Add / Remove languages' and just save it as it is. This action will trigger the download of the language files again and update the texts as needed.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.

Background of the issue:
The site was created in EN_us but should have used EN_gb. I am trying to change the site language to EN_gb because we are getting terms like 'carts' instead of 'baskets'.

Symptoms:
I cannot see how to change the site language from EN_us to EN_gb.

Questions:
How can I change the site language from EN_us to EN_gb in WordPress using WPML?

Can you please make a full backup of the site and try the following steps to see if it helps you achieve what you need?

- Please go to WPML -> Languages -> Site Languages and click on 'Edit Languages'
- In the English line, please change the Default locale column to 'en_GB' and save it
- Go back to WPML -> Languages, click on 'Add / Remove languages' and just save it as it is, this will cause the language files to be downloaded again and the texts you mentioned to be updated
