[Resolved] Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce with WPML
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client is trying to translate checkout fields using the free version of Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce but is unable to see any fields in the string translation. Solution: We recommend the following steps to translate the checkout fields: 1. Navigate to WooCommerce > Checkout Form, then edit the field by making a small change to it and save the changes. 2. Proceed to WPML > String Translation and translate strings in the domain
"woo-checkout-field-editor-pro"
.

Tell us what you are trying to do?
I am trying to translate my checkout fields and am using the free version of Checkout Field Editor for WooCommerce, but I can't, even I can't see any fields in the string translation.
Is there any documentation that you are following?
am following WPML official documentation.
Is there a similar example that we can see?
You can try to translate the "Company name" field in the checkout.
I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to have a testing site where the issue is replicated. Your next reply is set to private to share the info.
❌ IMPORTANT: Please backup your database and website before proceeding ❌
You can use this plugin to create the backup: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate Plugins and the Theme to change configurations on the site if needed. This is also a reason the backup is critical.
and please note, I have many issues also, like for example, I already translated the header, but if you check the homepage in Arabic, you can see that the About us link is missing the menu in the header.
Please follow steps below to translate the checkout fields:
1. Go to WooCommerce > Checkout Form > Edit the field and make a small change to the field > Save.
2. Go to WPML > String Translation > Translate strings in the domain "woo-checkout-field-editor-pro".
Please check screenshots attached.
Hi,
thank you for your assistance,
I did like you told me and it's working fine,
but I have few another problems:
1- in Translation Management -> Tools -> Under "Who can use Automatic Translation?", I can't turn off the other admins from using the automatic translation.
2- in my website the currency are AED, by default in woocommerce it's "د.إ" so I had to put a function in function.php to change it to AED, but in Arabic it should be "د.إ" and I could translate the AED.
3- in checkout page there is "Flat rate" also I couldn't translate it.
4- why the URL are changing, like cart page in Arabic the URL is cart-2, and shop page in Arabic are shop-2, since we are adding a prefix in the URL /ar/ so why the URLs are changing and how to keep them as they are.
Thank you
