This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was experiencing issues with untranslated strings on their multilingual website, including checkout steps not appearing in English, and an error message indicating a stuck automatic translation. Additionally, there were discrepancies in the header and footer between the Dutch and English versions, and the Checkout Field Editor Pro plugin seemed to require a PRO version for WPML compatibility.

Solution:
1. We guided the client to use WPML's String Translation to find and translate strings that were not appearing. Detailed steps can be found at https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/finding-strings-that-dont-appear-on-the-string-translation-page/#translate-admin-and-settings-strings.

2. We recommended increasing the WP memory limit to at least 128MB, as per WPML's minimum requirements

3. We provided a video tutorial to help the client find strings that don't show up in WPML -> String Translation.

4. We instructed the client to scan the Flatsome theme from WPML -> Theme and plugins localization page to ensure all related strings appear for translation.

5. We addressed the Checkout Field Editor Pro plugin issue by checking if the strings were available for translation in WPML -> String Translation and verifying the default language settings of the fields.

6. We suggested translating strings related to the domain "woocommerce" for the header cart steps issue.

7. For a new issue regarding the front page showing in Dutch when English is selected, we created a separate ticket to maintain clarity and focus.

Hi Ardjan,

Thank you for the update.

I am happy to hear that you managed to make it work.

Related to the header cart steps, I would suggest you try translating the strings related to the domain "woocommerce" from the WPML -> String translation and see if that works.

Let me know if you have any more questions or you need further assistance.

Kind regards,
Marsel

Hi Marsel, something strange. The front page was fine and translated in English. Yesterday I added some content (Pink Ribbon section) and now it shows up only in Dutch when English is selected. I checked but cannot find why and where I can fix this...
Kind regards, Ardjan

Hi Ardjan,

Given that this issue seems that is not related to the one we were dealing before, and we do have a one issue per ticket policy in order to keep topics clear and to help focus in resolving issues, I split this issue into another ticket.

I would suggest you close this ticket and we will proceed with the issue you are having on this other ticket: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-front-page-showing-in-dutch-even-when-english-is-selected/

Kind regards,
Marsel
