Per	In the comments admin panel in the back-end, comments only show in one language even after switching language with the language switcher. Please see screenshots: comments in Swedish are displayed when Swedish is selected as well as when English is selected. This seems to have happened after an MySql upgrade to version 8 (according to our hoster, WP Engine), which also caused an issue with characters being displayed improperly, as you can see in the screenshots. Per	Hi Bobby, There is no 4.6.6. 4.6.5 is the current version and it is the one that is installed. See screenshot (take after having done "check for update")

Per	That made no difference whatsoever, as you can see on this loom video: hidden link I change the language from Swedish to English. The Swedish comments are still shown even though the language should be English.

(preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible) Before we proceed It is necessary to take FULL BACKUP of your database and your website. Providing us with access, you agree that a backup has been taken I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/ You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you enter is private which means only you and I have access to it. NOTE: If access to the live site is not possible and the staging site does not exist please provide me with a duplicator package created with the duplicator plugin. Thank you, Bobby

May I ask you to please deactivate object-cache.php Memcached Redux (drop in plugin) and check the comments again. I have tested this and it looks like this could be caused due to some caching settings. Let me know your results, please.

Per	Hi, Well, not sure I can do that. That is, from what I know, a "must use" plugin from WP Engine that is something that is part of the WP Engine hosting environment. It is not something that I have added.

Per	Hi, Yes, it was possible to remove that from the environment. Not sure why that conflict happens and why only on the comments admin. Object caching seems like a good idea. Anyway, have removed it and now the comments admin works as it should.

Is there possibly a way to exclude the comments page in the dashboard from the process of object caching? I believe there should be a way to do this, maybe the hosting provider could help with the steps needed?

Per	Maybe one could do that. But it would probably be some specific coding, which I would be reluctant to do since it is the kind of thing that gets lost over time, or at least the memory of why it was done.
