This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is looking for a way to automatically send new or edited content to a translation service and to ensure that all new Pages/Posts are saved in Draft mode until they are translated.

Solution:
1. To automate the translation process, we recommend switching from "Translate Some" to "Translate Everything" mode in WPML -> Settings. This will automatically send content for translation.

2. To set the default publishing status for translations, you can follow the instructions provided in our documentation: Setting the publishing status for translations.

However, for the specific workflow where content is automatically sent to a translation service and both the source and translated content are published after translation, this would require custom development. For such custom work, we suggest reaching out to one of our recommended contractors: WPML Contractors.

If this solution doesn't look relevant to your situation, please open a new support ticket so we can assist you further.

1) Is there a way to automatically send any new or edit content to translation? Currently the process is to manually select Pages/Posts and submit them to translation.

2) Is there a way in WordPress to change the default and always save new Pages/Posts in Draft mode? I want new content created by different users to be in draft mode until it's translated.

Thanks

Hi,

before your ticket is assigned to one of my colleagues, please allow me to walk you through some initial debugging steps. This will help speed up the support process.

1) Yes, you can switch from "Translate Some" to "Translate Everything" on WPML -> Settings. Then, it will automatically translate the content.

2) Yes, you can configure it as described here: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/#setting-the-publishing-status-for-translations.

Best Regards
Marcel

Hi Marcel,

Thank you for getting back to me but here is what i am trying to do

1. I don't want automated translation. I still want to go through a Language Service provider. I have multiple users creating content and I want an automated way to send content to my translation company as soon as new content is created.

2. Same goes here. I want to always create new content as draft, send it automatically to translation (using my translation company) and then switch it both the source and the translated pages to published as soon as the translation is complete.

Thanks

Hello,

1) This is not possible, you need to select pages and send them to the selected translator/translation service.

2) WPML controls only 2nd language and the related option is in WPML > Settings > Translated documents options > When you receive completed translations > Publish the post translations / Save the translated post as a draft.

As for your default language and automating this process, that would probably require some custom work, for which I can suggest using WPML contractors service.
