Hello there!
I have seen the site and I can see that its performance increased a lot in the front-end and a bit more than before in the back-end.
The problem we had seen in the past is that sometimes the back-end was really fast, sometimes it was slower but tolerable and sometimes it was incredibly slow.
So far I have seen the first 2 scenarios written above and I've been monitoring the site and checking it out since 5 minutes after you sent the mail yesterday.
My question to you now is, did you notice any noticeable increase in performance without WPML? I can't test that myself on a production site without your consent but the test is simple:
- Check your server statistics
- Check the performance it's had for more or less an hour timeframe.
- Now try to navigate the back-end and check if there are spikes in the resource usage (there should be small ones, not super big ones).
- Now, wait a few minutes and check if the resource usage went back to normal, how it was before you used the site.
- Now disable WPML and do the same.
- The resource usage will of course be different because you're using one less plugin, but is the change too big?
-----------
At the same time, could you monitor if you notice anything on the queries from WPML? like they are slow, too big, etc?
Those are the signals that could help spot any possible issue. We can't do that for you on a live site, but if you have SSH access you might be able to do that fast and easy. the same applies if you check the server tools that allow you to see the resource usage. we can handle the queries later after that test.
Could you please try that out and let us know how it goes?
