This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is trying to remove a language from their site by following the instructions on the WPML documentation page. They notice that the 'Yes, delete all translations' button becomes active again after clicking it, and no content seems to be deleted, although the number of media items has decreased.
Solution:
We recommend that the client continues to repeat the deletion process. The fact that the number of media items is decreasing indicates that the process is working, but it may need to be initiated multiple times due to server constraints like timeouts. This is especially true when dealing with a large number of languages, images, and image thumbnails. We are working on improving this functionality for better performance.

Hi,

I'm following the instructions on https://wpml.org/faq/how-to-completely-remove-a-language-from-your-site and when I click on delete content it looks like it is running but then the 'Yes, delete all translations' button becomes active again and nothing has been deleted. Could this be because I'm running the action on a staging site?

It looks like it might be working a bit as the amount of media items has gone from 9284 to 7523.

I want to be able to completely remove the content from the site.

Thanks

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML support!

Given that the number is decreasing, it indicates that the removal is working. The process may need to be started multiple times though because of possible server constraints (such as timeouts, as this process is quite lengthy given the amount of languages, images, image thumbnails, etc).

We are trying to improve this functionality to work faster, however there isn't something else I can recommend at this point but that you repeat the process until completed.
