We use WPML to translate our website into 4 languages English, German, Spanish and French.
We create every post in English first, then assign it to a translator for each other language. They translate using the advanced WPML translation editor.
We have the following bug:
In some posts we have column headers (always in English) and values (always translated in the language of the country).
For example in English:
Column header = Country
Value = Country.
If we translate from English -> German we have:
Column header Country -> Country
Value Country -> Land
This leaves us with what seems two German translations for "Country": "Country" and "Land".
Al goes well when we translate the article from English -> German the first time.
If some changes are made to the English post, the post is reassigned to the German translator.
This translator then opens the advanced editor and most translations are already there, taken from the translation memory.
She sees the wrong translations however, she sees:
Column header: Country -> Country
Value Country: -> Country
Of course the proposed value should be "Land" in stead of "Country" as it was done in the first time the post was translated. It is as if the translation editor always takes the first of the two possible German translations for "Country".
Since you're mentioning tables, I guess you're using the MCE Table Buttons plugin?
If that's the case, it's not a plugin we tested and we can't guarantee compatibility. You can try to reproduce the issue here hidden link but if I can't find a solution you should ask the author.
If instead the issue also happens outside of tables, please provide me with a job ID (it's the URL you see in the translation editor) so we can better research what's happening.

1. I create an article without tables and use the translation editor to translate it (image stap1).
2. The result is correct, the article looks good (image stap2).
3. I assign to a translator to do an update of some content (image stap3).
4. When the translator opens the job, even BEFORE editing something, "Land" in the last field has become "Country", the translator hasn't touched anything yet: hidden link
I tried and I can't reproduce what you're experiencing. I think it might be somehow expected.
When you translate in the translation editor, WPML remembers translations, so if you translate the string "Country" as "Country" the first time, then all the time you use "Country" in English WPML will automatically translate it as "Country" (you should be able to change it though).
However, if you use the same string in a different part of the post (like in the title and the body) WPML recognizes them as 2 different strings and they can be translated differently.
