How can I stop the auto-translator for the string translations? Because it is now translating already correct translated strings into incorrect strings. And I can't find any setting to disable this for the string translation but keep it enabled with the pages, products, etc. Now I have to disable the whole auto-translator...

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out!

WPML does not automatically create translations for WPML String Translation. It may be able to automatically translate pages, posts, or custom post types once the original content changed, but this depends on whether you use some specific settings.

If you do not wish to use automatic translation, you can take the following steps:

1) Make sure that on WPML > Translation Dashboard, the option "Translate Everything automatically" is turned off.

2) On the Advanced Translation Editor, click on the settings on the top right and disable the first option "Translate all content automatically when the editor is opened".

3) On WPML > Translation Tools > Automatic translation engines, disable all automatic translation engines.

4) On WPML > Translation Tools > Who can use Automatic Translation? Make sure that any admin or translator is enabled for automatic translation.

These are basically the only steps you need to take to avoid automatic translation. You can use WPML > Translation Dashboard to create jobs and assign them to yourself or other users of the website, who can then access these jobs at WPML > Translation.

Let me know if you have any further doubts or questions.

Best regards
Andreas

Hello Andreas,

There is one problem if I disable the whole auto-translator. With that the WooCommerce products inside the website are then also not translated...

I only want to disable the auto-translator for the founded strings inside the theme (and plugins). So it won't overruled the correct translation with some weird incorrect translation. Is that possible?

Are you using the option "Translate Everything Automatically," which is located in the section of WPML > Translation Dashboard?
