This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is using the Divi theme and WPML plugin to create a bilingual site and needs to translate the Global English footer into French using the Divi builder, without impacting the English layout. The client prefers not to use the WPML Advanced Translation Editor.
Solution:
We recommend manually translating the footer by following these steps:
1. Access your site's layout posts by visiting these URLs, replacing 'example.com' with your site's URL:
- http://example.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=et_header_layout
2. Edit the header in the default language, switch to the WordPress editor for translations, and make the necessary changes.
Please note, this manual approach is not extensively tested and support may be limited. If you translate the template again via WPML > Translations Management, these manual changes will be overwritten. To avoid conflicts, stick to a single translation method.

Background of the issue:
We are using a Divi theme and the Divi page builder to create pages, and we are using the WPML plugin to make the site bilingual. We have already created the Global English footer in the Theme builder (Divi > Theme builder), and we want to translate it to French. The French footer layout is slightly different from the English version. We don't want to use the WPML Advanced Translation Editor and need a way to translate the French footer using the Divi builder without impacting the English footer layout.
I've already done some research, but no luck on finding what I want.

Symptoms:

Questions:
Is there a way to translate the French footer using the Divi builder?
How do I proceed on creating different footers/headers for different languages?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to WPML support. I’d be glad to assist you with this issue.

We typically recommend using WPML editors as they are the preferred method for translating builder content. However, if you’d like to manually translate, you can try the following:

1. Visit these URLs (replace the site url with your siteurl)
- hidden link
- hidden link

2. Edit the header in the default language, switch to the WordPress editor for translations, and make the necessary changes.

Please note that this approach is not recommended, hasn’t been tested extensively, and any support related to it may be limited. Additionally, if you translate the template again via **WPML > Translations Management**, these manual changes will be overwritten. To avoid conflicts, we recommend sticking to a single translation method.

For more information, refer to: https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/.

Let me know if this resolves your issue!

Thanks

Divi is advising to do it like this hidden link.

However how it comes wpml says the transaltions are in progress but when we check it 100% is already translated. How to solve this problem?
