This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
Posts are in draft in primary language but their translations are published.

Solution:
WPML can only sync post status when you originally translate the page if you have set "Document status" to " Same as the original document" at
WPML -> Settings -> Translated documents options"

Any subsequent post status change does not syncs to the translations so you will need to:

- Go to Pages or Posts
- Switch to the secondary language from the Language switcher in the top menu.
- Edit the translation and update it's post status manually as require.

I am trying to: see the same posts in english and german on a page that uses the WP query loop to display posts

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link should be equivalent to hidden link

I expected to see: only the published posts

Instead, I got: all posts, including drafts.

Hi there,

First of all, can you please go to WPML -> Settings page scroll to "Translated documents options" and make sure the "Document status" is set to " Same as the original document" ?

So now what this option does is when you initially translate the posts/pages it puts the translation to Draft or Published based on the status of your original post/page.

However, if you latter change the post status in the primary language WPML does not sync it to the secondary language. You will need to manually change the translated post status to draft or published as required by editing the translated post directly.

Hope this answers your query. Please let me know if your case is different along with more details.
