Background of the issue:
I have a multilingual (4 languages) real estate website built with WPML. The site features numerous taxonomies such as cities, states, areas, etc., each with over 1000 entries per language. During my attempts to translate these taxonomies, I've mixed up all the terms across languages. For instance, the list of Japanese cities now includes 'Osaka' in English and '三河' in Chinese, among others. I am considering starting afresh by deleting all the city taxonomies and re-importing them from scratch using WP All Import.
Symptoms:
Taxonomy translations got mixed up during translation process using WPML and I need to edit/view translation memory.
Questions:
Is there a way to download, edit, or at least view the translation memory stored in WPML? I need to ensure that any taxonomy (city)-related entries in the translation memory are deleted so that the incorrect translations do not reappear after re-importing the taxonomies.
Could you please guide me on the steps to import a list of cities (taxonomies) in four languages using WP All Import, ensuring that the relationships between translations are retained?
Thank you for contacting WPML support, I’m happy to help you with this issue.
I'm afraid that there isn't an option to edit the translation memory on our server. If you want to correct the taxonomy translation on your site, you can go to WPML > Taxonomy Translation to edit the translation terms.
Also, if the option "Only show taxonomy terms that haven't been translated yet" is enabled in WPML > Settings > Translation Editor, the translated term won't be available in WPML Translation Editor.
