[Resolved] Error when opening the translation editor
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client reported that translations do not update instantly, and this issue persists even in a minimal environment. It affects both pages and posts. Additionally, the client receives a message stating, "Translation successfully completed. Please return to your site manually, as we couldn't redirect you automatically." Solution: We accessed the client's website and performed the following steps to verify the issue: 1. We navigated to the Pages tab and opened the editor for a specific page. 2. We edited the Spanish translation of the page, changed the title, and saved the changes. 3. We then checked the corresponding Spanish page and confirmed that the changes were reflected instantly. We recommend the client to verify if the website is functioning correctly now. If the issue persists, we suggest recording a video demonstrating the problem using Loom, which is free and easy to use.
If this solution does not resolve the issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, please open a new support ticket. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. For further assistance, you can also contact us directly at the WPML support forum.

I accessed the website you sent and saw that the translations are being updated instantly. Here's what I did:
1. I went to the Pages tab and opened the editor for "hidden link";
2. I opened the editor for the Spanish Translation, changed the title to "Sectores test" and saved;
3. I checked the page "hidden link" and saw the change;
Can you please check if the website is working as it should? If not, please send me a video reproducing the error. You can use Loom, it's free and easy to use 🙂
Thank you for sharing the video, I was able to see the error now. Please make a full website backup, go to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting and click the buttons I marked in the screenshot.
Note that the dropdown must read "Pages", as per the screenshot. Also, don't forget to check the checkbox before clicking on "Clear language information and repopulate fields". Let me know how it goes.
I don't receive notifications for your messages (can you copy next answers so rom.olivier@gmail.com ?) and I cannot see any screenshot in your message.
As for the notifications, they-re automatic and I can't activate them from here. Please check https://wpml.org/account/account-preferences/ and https://wpml.org/account/account-settings/ to see if everything is correctly set-up there. If so, please logout and login again, to see if you'll start to receive the notifications. I appreciate your patience.
The notifications are well checked. It's the first time I have trouble receiving them.
Concerning your fix, it seem to have worked, so I have reactivated theme and plugins. There is some kind of "styling bug" on the english language only (please see captures and this URL : hidden link and compare with other languages).
By the way, in the translation editor, is there a way to automatically display strings that are not translated or not checked yet ? Because there is often some strings whose translation disappear and that would be very convenient to display only them (like we could in the classic translation editor) rather than having the scroll all the page down, especially when it is long ?

I'm glad that the initial problem was resolved. It was probably a mismatch between local and ATE IDs. Can you please mark it as resolved?
As for your other request, I opened a new ticket for it. This way, we can analyze issues separately and make it easier for other users to find it later. I'll answer you there as soon as I have new information: https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-styling-options-in-translations/
Regarding your last question, we don't offer this option. You can scroll and check the empty fields. If you like, I can also open a new ticket to take a better look. Please let me know. Let's see if the notifications work properly with the new ticket. It might be a one-time-thing.
Sorry, last request.
This was to test the fix on a staging site (clone of the original site) before apllying on the live site hidden link
I have to proceed the same way on the live site ?
