Background of the issue:
I updated the WPML plugin to version 4.7.6, and now it has stopped working. The plugin failed to load and is suspended during recovery mode. An error of type E_ERROR was caused on line 67 of the file /home/c43blbrr/public_html/wp-content/plugins/sitepress-multilingual-cms/classes/xml-config/class-wpml-xml-config-validate.php. I was attempting to use the plugin as usual when this issue occurred. Link to a page where the issue can be seen: [No URL provided].
Symptoms:
The plugin failed to load and is suspended during recovery mode. Error message: Uncaught Error: Class "DOMDocument" not found in /home/c43blbrr/public_html/wp-content/plugins/sitepress-multilingual-cms/classes/xml-config/class-wpml-xml-config-validate.php:67.
Questions:
Why did the plugin stop working after the update?
How can I resolve the E_ERROR related to the DOMDocument class?
