The main issue here is, that you are adding directories to the original slug that do not point to any page or archive on your site. This is bad practice and not recommended.

Make sure to revise your Custom Permalinks Plugins, which seems to be the reason for the issue.

I just realized that your site has 1,118 custom permalink items.

If you delete the entry that is currently trying to change the slug of the translated page, it should solve the issue.

I understand if this is maybe not what you are expecting.

I can offer a WPML test site on which we can try to recreate the issue. Would you be able to cooperate on this matter?

Please create a sample page and recreate your custom permalink approach on the following test site.

Try to recreate the issue using a simple example.
