Background of the issue:
I am trying to access my plugins.php in the backend of my WordPress site. I encountered a fatal error related to the WPML plugin. The error message is: Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class "DOMDocument" not found in /home/proact13/public_html/wp-content/plugins/sitepress-multilingual-cms/classes/xml-config/class-wpml-xml-config-validate.php:67. This issue can be seen at the following URL: hidden link. Additionally, I experience more fatal errors when activating the plugins wpml-sticky-links and wpml-cms-nav.

Symptoms:
I received a fatal error message: 'Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class "DOMDocument" not found in /home/proact13/public_html/wp-content/plugins/sitepress-multilingual-cms/classes/xml-config/class-wpml-xml-config-validate.php:67'. There is a critical error on the website, and I cannot access the plugins.php page in the backend.

Questions:
How can I resolve the fatal error related to the DOMDocument class not being found?
What steps should I take to fix the critical error on my website?
